God Of Our Hope
But You…
Psalm 102:12,27
My Takeaways
Something Old
Pray for myself… this is ok.
Pray for others… this is expected.
Remember God will always be God… this is our hope.
What a great hope for us:
No matter how bad things become, personally, locally, or nationally…
- The LORD is still on His throne… forever. (Psalm 102:12)
- The LORD will live forever… never changing. (Psalm 102:27)
Something New
Let this be recorded for future generations, so that people not yet born will praise the LORD. Psalm 102:18
I’m so thankful the Word was recorded. I am a people who was not yet born. Because the Word was recorded, I can praise the LORD.
Something to Do
Today I praise God for this hope, and for the recording of awesome events that teach me who God was, is, and always will be.
I really LOVED today’s reading! ❤️
The psalms of praise, thanksgiving and reassurance were encouraging and uplifting. I love the reminders that God is the same from generation to generation. He will sit on his throne forever and our children’s children will thrive in His presence.
Then Psalm 102:1-2 especially touched my heart as I sometimes find myself overwhelmed with my troubling circumstances – caring for aging parents, concern for adult children, especially a prodigal child, finances, a demanding job, etc. I can really identify with the unknown psalmist.
Psalm 104, one of my favorites, begins “Let all that I am praise the Lord” (ALL of me! – mind, body, & soul)
“Oh Lord my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light.”
A robe of light! Beautiful imagery and language!
And continuing with verses 33-34 “I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath! May all my thoughts be pleasing to Him for I rejoice in the Lord…Let all that I am praise the Lord!”
As Wendy mentioned, I’m so thankful this was recorded for future generations, including us!
