  1. OK, you have convicted me to pull my “One-Year Chronological Bible” off the shelf and stick with it in 2015. My husband gave me the Bible as a Christmas gift and by last February it was on the shelf. I’m going to commit to reading it this year. Wendy, thanks for the encouragement. I love that God’s Word is living and active teaching us new things no matter how many times we read the same scriptures. God bless you and “Read Thru the Word.”

  2. I have been asking God to reveal to me what book or bible study would help foster my daily walk with Him AND within the past week, this is the second time someone has introduced me to the concept of reading a chronological bible. I believe God has provided the answer. Thank you!

  3. This really struck me this morning because I have tried different Bible reading programs and usually get lost in Leviticus and Numbers and end up giving up. I have never thought about getting the One Year Bible, but it sounds like something that may help me. I have also been looking for a Bible for my pre-teen son and one that reads more like a novel may be a good option. Thank-you for this word!

  4. Hi Wendy, thanks so much for helping us with this. Recently I have felt God bring to my attention the need to study His word more deeply. I didn’t know how, but I’m glad to have stumbled across your post and video because it now seems possible. I am excited to start this journey and hope and pray I can be consistent and persistent with it. God bless.

  5. Wendy, I thank you for your obedience. Your message is inspiring this morning. I have been struggling with Holy Spirit conviction to read more and I pray by using the chronological Bible and following your daily videos it will transform my life as it has your life. Again thank you and God Bless.

    1. Hi Stephanie, so glad you will be joining us in RTW. We are in for a very exciting year!! See you on the RTW page.

      1. Hello. I just purchased the journal and the on-line study, but I’m having trouble with the registration and I’m not sure when the study begins. I’m waiting for my husband to help me with the registration as I keep getting a prompt after I put in my username and password and even put in a password they assigned me but still get the same prompt. Sorry, I didn’t know where else to send this as there is no contact us info that I could find. Can you help me or direct me to someone who can help?

        1. Deborah, at the top of is page on the right hand side is a link “Connect with Wendy” you can send her an email with a description of the prompt you are getting. She’ll help… I did comment to you above, but I’m not sure which one you’ll see…. Can’t wait for you to join RTW!

  6. Wendy, you have been on my heart and RTW has been on my mind since the P31OBS Conference Call on Tuesday! I am hoping and praying that I will be joining you in 2015. I have actually wanted to purchase the One Year Bible since She Speaks, I just haven’t done it. Thank you for the encouragement today.
    Blessings, Sarah xx

  7. Hi Wendy,

I can’t wait to start reading the entire Bible. I am all in! Thank you for your obedience.

    Blessings,

    Kay

  8. just this morning during my quiet time, I asked God to help me understand the bible more. I currently read a chapter of day of Paul’s letters and most of the time I don’t understand what I’m reading. This sounds like it will solve the problem. God is putting this on my heart to start this study.

    1. Miranda, I have no doubt that RTW with Wendy will “solve the problem”. 😉 I’m so excited that you are joining us!

  9. Thank you for your devotion this morning. I have been wanting to draw closer to God and read my Bible more. After reading your devotion this morning and reading about the One Year Chronological Bible and the online study, I have signed up and downloaded the journal. I will be putting the Bible on my wish list for Christmas. Thank you for this opportunity to join you in this study for the upcoming year. God Bless!

    1. Hi Lisa, so glad you will be joining Wendy and the rest of the RTW class. I’m just finishing my second year of doing RTW. I know you will be blessed, because I have been immeasurably. 🙂

  10. Good Morning Wendy, your enthusiasm for Reading Through the Word is contagious. I can see your compassion for others to learn more about the Word. I am 68 years old and regret that I did not study the Bible more in my younger years when I would have been able to understand it better. But now, God has placed a burning desire in me – a deep hunger to learn more about Him. Thank you so much for your encouragement. Please pray for me that, even though I am 68 years old, I will be able to understand what God has to say to me through His Word in the time that I have left on this earth. I want to be a blessing to others. May God Richly Bless you and your family.

    1. Hi Rita, I’m praying for you to have understanding and that each day God gives you that one nugget of truth He wants you to learn. Not sure if you signed up for Read Thru the Word with Wendy, but you wouldn’t be the oldest. Ha! There are people of all ages and those that have been doing RTW for various number of years. It never gets old, and personally I have gained some very close friendships with people all over the country-I didn’t expect that. 🙂

    2. Rita, you voiced everything I feel exactly expect that I’m 64. And again, I’m having trouble registering and have paid for everything for the study. I don’t know when the study begins and I’m hoping someone will help me with the registration so I can be a part of the study.

      1. When you registered, you should have gotten an email with your username and password. There is a link at the top of this page that says “Login”. Select that, and enter in the username you registered with, and the password. This should log you in. Once logged in, you select “online studies” “RTW”. That will get you to the current day’s study. You can start today, no need to wait… Although we are in the New Testament approaching the end of the book. If you want to start at the beginning, you’ll have to wait for January first. Your call… When I started, it was at the beginning of Joshua (End of March/Early April timeframe)

If you aren’t getting an email after you register, you can select the “Connect with Wendy” link at the top of this page and she will help resolve the issue…. Just give her a day or so to get back to you, as I believe she has received a lot of emails from this devotional.

No worries, RTW isn’t going anywhere. 🙂 so glad you will be joining us on this journey.

  11. Wow, my heart leaped as I listened to you speak! I needed a nudge. There have been, steady as a rock times, studying the Word and then I have had dry seasons! My do I feel that this is a time that I truly need to do this one year study! I want to glorify God and what better way than to get in His Word and understand more, by living His Word and loving His Word!
    Humbly thankful,
    Jacki

  12. Ohh how nice. I bought a one year bible earlier this year but I dont believe it’s a chronological one. I will have to go check those out. Thanks for sharing Wendy.

  13. I know the importance of starting my day out reading, studying, and praying to God for my children/family and for wisdom for the day and/or for what is going on in our lives. With that being said, I have struggled to find knowledge as I read the Bible. There are times when I needed to read the truth only to become discouraged because I just didn’t get it.
I have been sensing God leading me to get more indepth with my reading and have recently begun the task of “where to begin”. Perhaps the chronological Bible is the right path that God is leading me toward. Thanks for sharing Wendy – the words in your devotion really touched me.

  14. Hi Wendy
I started the journey last year and then I got off track and then I just gave up. I am willing to take a leap of faith. Thank you encouraging us. My father in law passed away yesterday and he was a a man of God. I want to be a woman of God.

    1. Tammy, praying for you and your family to have peace and indescribable comfort during this time of grieving. I’m so sorry about the passing of your Father in Law.

I am grateful that you want to read thru the Word next year. I know God will bless you each day in unexpected ways, as you see Him more clearly.

  15. Hi there,
I loved your devotional today and I just bought this Bible to read for next year on my Kindle. Can I ask you when you went through it the first time, did you write stuff down or did you just read it? I am curious. I have never actually read the Bible in its entirety before, so it definitely is intimidating. Thanks for your help!

    1. Melissa, as you read through the bible, Wendy encourages us to write Something Old – what part of the reading is familiar, Something New- is there some truth that is new to you, and Something to Do- What does God want you to work on today based on the reading. If you sign up for the membership to Read Thru the Word, you will get a daily video teaching from Wendy, and her notes. That way if you are struggling with hearing from the Holy Spirit, Wendy helps to open your eyes and ears to the Truth… In no time at all, you will be getting that one nugget of Truth from the Spirit, and having Wendy’s teaching just enhances the whole experience of spending time with Jesus.

Check out the links above for the sample teaching and journal entry.

  16. I want to read through the entire bible ….just as you mentioned, I tried last year and gave up in Numbers. I would love to read through it chronologically!

  17. Thank you, Wendy, for this Chronological Bible study offering! You have such an inviting, encouraging, enthusiastic “tone” to your voice that really makes me want to jump right in! I, too, have been praying that God will guide me to be in His Word more, and you hit the nail on the head with “it’s OK if we don’t understand the whole Bible”! I’m looking forward to this study! Thank you for your encouragement!

    1. Sylvia, you are gonna love Reading Thru the Word with Wendy, it is like she is sitting across the table from you having a chat about what she learned that day, and you get to respond. So glad you want to jump right in! You don’t have to wait another day if you don’t want to, just join us over at RTW under Online Studies link. (You need to go to the Store link first to purchase the membership first though.)

  18. Wow! The Lord is really trying to give me help to go ahead with reading the Bible again since my Brain Injury accident in 2007. Now my mind is like a child’s & its getting better slowly and I think this will definitely point me in the right direction to grow.

  19. Thank you for this Wendy! This is a wonderful start for my day! It has been a horrible week for my family and me as we are about to lose our beloved dog. Hard choices as humans, making life and death decisions, but nothing is hard for our Lord. Please pray that we make the correct and best compassionate decisions. Bless you for this encouragement!

  20. Okay, I’m intrigued. Pray for the nudge to continue because as it is I don’t get everything done in a day. And we are supposed to exercise every day (or at least several times a week), etc which doesn’t seem to happen either. Lots of mornings, breakfast doesn’t get eaten and lunch is at 1 pm. Kids getting home from school after that with their activities, dinner, etc.

    1. Amy,
I too am a mom of 2 busy boys and one new baby on the way! I’m currently finishing up the 3rd year of this study because I just can’t imagine my life without it. One of the ways I’ve made sure to have time for RTW is by either reading at night before bed (it’s maybe 20 mins) and then getting up an hour before kids and chaos begin to listen to the video and journal. I have not been perfect at all. There’s days I’ve missed through the years, but give yourself grace and be press on! This adventure has been life changing, not only for me, but for my entire household! The boys are watching me spend time in God’s Word every morning, which is one of the main reasons I began this journey. My husband, who is a believer but not very involved or active in the church, has done some amazing transformations. And it’s all because I’m in God’s Word consistently. Praying that you join the RTW journey! Blessings to you and your family 🙂
      Nicole

  21. To everyone considering joining the RTW adventure…let me be an encouraging voice. IT IS ABSOLUTELY LIFE CHANGING. Reading the bible this way, especially, is so awesome and it’s easy! As Wendy says often, “it’s not about perfection, but persistence!” Believe me I haven’t been perfect about reading every day, but I’m just finishing up my 3rd year with RTW because I can’t imagine my days without it! I thank God that I found Wendy and this study. Praying and encouraging all of you to strengthen and deepen your journey with our AWEmazing God through RTW!

    Blessings!
    Nicole

  22. God works in mysterious ways !!! Just yesterday I was googling how to read the bible. I have been in church my entire life and feel like I should be reading God’s word but didn’t know where to start. Just yesterday signed up for the Proverbs 31 daily devotion and what was the devotion today !!! God really spoke to me through your blog. Can’t wait to start this journey!!

    1. Jackie, I love this God In our Midst Moment you shared, and I look forward to you joining the RTW! Surely we are in for quite an adventure!

  23. I have been doing this and love it. I didn’t understand some of it but loved it anyway. I have gotten a little behind since my daughter got married and was involved with that but trying to catch up. I will do it again next year. I’m in.

  24. I really want to dedicate myself to reading the bible on a daily basis because I know that God speaks to us if we only take the time to stop and listen before we act.

  25. My grandmother got me this Bible a few years ago and I have never read it all the way thru.. But you have inspired me!! My first New Years Resolution for 2015 ..

  26. Bless you Wendy,

I purchased the One Year Chronological Bible last year with the idea of reading it daily.
I am ashamed to admit that I have not even unwrapped it. I have a King James Bible that I read, but it is usually wherever I open it to. The King James Bible is my favorite, but I am going to make an early New Years Resolution to unwrap my new One Year Chronological Bible and read it along with all of you…….Thank You, Wendy!

  27. To read through the Bible in one year has been something I have wanted to do for so long.
To be able to listen to your video teaching and study from a Chronological Bible is such a win – win setup.
I can’t wait to start the new year with learning and expecting to hear from God as I delve into His word for my life journey. … Thank you Wendy for blessing me and all the other women on this New Year/Transformed Life Journey!

  28. Wow! It has been several years since I have read the Bible cover-to-cover. Since I work part-time and have a toddler, I’m a little skeptical of my ability to keep up with this, but I know that God is faithful and will help me if this is something he has for me for 2015.

  29. Thanks for the challenge! I just may take you up on it & bear with me, if I get a 2nd hand copy for my Bible, since that’s a little cheaper. Blessings to you on your continued study, too, Wendy!

  30. I started to read through the Bible last year, but some time in February started falling behind. I am hesitant/scared that I will let myself down, but know that I don’t need to live in fear. My heart is pounding with excitement…I hope I can stick to this commitment this year. You’re right: I’ve wanted to do it and the more I read His word and apply it, the more I’ll love His word. Thank you for your encouragement.

  31. This is a reading plan/bible study I’m excited about diving into. I can’t wait for this to start!

  32. Love this idea! I have started reading through the Bible several times and have never completed it. Reading through it chronologically and with someone leading the way sounds like a great way to accomplish it! Looking forward to getting started!

  33. Good morning Wendy. Was blessed by your video. At 71 I have read through the Bible many times. I must admit that I didn’t always understand much of what I read and as you mentioned it was hard to track, because it wasn’t in chronicalogical order. Loved the dog!

  34. My husband and I read the Bible through a couple of years ago, but it was not done with a chronological plan. I am excited to try this in 2015!! To have a discussion leader and others doing this at the same time will be such an encouragement. Thanks for offering this Wendy!!

  35. I have always wanted to read through the Bible yet have never done so. I can’t think of a better way to start a new year off than to join you and many others on a daily journey through God’s word! Thank you for the opportunity to come together for this Bible study.

  36. I have been looking for a way to read the bible again. I did a read the bible in a year through youversion. Which I did feel good that I could say I read it, but know there is so much more that I need to get from his word by staying in the bible and reading it everyday for the rest of my life. Doing it with other people and having a “leader” will be a way that I can stay accountable. Also listening to Wendy on this video really makes you want to follow what she has to say 🙂 what an inspiration she is.

    1. Lynn, you are gonna love it! Look forward to having you join Wendy and the rest of the RTW class!

  37. Wendy, my friend Tricia and I got the chance to tell you at She Speaks 2013 what a difference the Chronological Bible had made in our lives but I just have to thank you again for introducing us to it first at She Speaks 2010. Jan 2015 we will begin our 4 year of teaching in our Sunday night bible study class and God has changed lives and touched hearts. Thank you for continuing to follow His calling on your life and for sharing it with us.

  38. Thanks Wendy, you’ve really inspired me to get busy & ready through the whole bible. The thought really scares me, like you I felt God’s nudge so I tried & got so bogged down & confused I stoped! We own a cronilogical bible, I just need to start reading it daily! Thanks again for the awesome encouragement!! God Bless

  39. Wendy,
I bought this Bible some years back when you first started and I am still reading it today. You were such an inspiration. I also bought a copy for my sister and sent it to her. She began listening to you online. She has not been much of a church or Bible study person through the years. I believe your study made an impact on her. I want to join you again in 2015.
    Blessings!
    Sally

  40. Each year I try to read through the Bible. I was looking for a new one year Bible for 2015 and, lo and behold, I discovered the link to your blog and found what I’ve been looking for. I’m looking forward to “growing in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” in the new year. Thanks.

  41. Thanks I can’t wait to start but now I got to find the money for the study hopefully I can get some. And also what version of the chronological bible does she use nlt or niv?

  42. Last year God put it on my heart that I needed to read through the Bible. I didn’t get very far on my own. This is exactly what I need to get through reading the entire Bible. I’m so excited to not be doing this alone 🙂

  43. Wendy, I loved the look of your worn Bible. I want to be that kind of woman! I love reading the word and have never thought about reading a chronological version of the Bible and about how much sense that would make! I’m up for the challenge. As a mid-50’s woman I see more and more the importance of being grounded in the Word in order to be an example to my adult children and grandchildren. We have so many distractions in the world today competing for our time and I want the peeps in my life to see my well worn Bible and want to read it too because of what they see through me. Thanks, Tracy

  44. Wendy, today I felt you were speaking directly to me. I long to read the Bible but every time I try, I quickly give up. Where do I start, I ask myself, I just don’t get it, and I give up. Maybe this study, reading the bible in chronological order is the answer, it’s a place to start. I am so glad I found you and I am looking forward to this new way, for me, to study the Bible. Thank you.

  45. Whether I win or not, I plan to get a chronological Bible. I have read through the Bible a few times and think it would be awesome to have those connections together. I also love the idea of 365 days of help, support, and accountability.

  46. I would love to read through the bible with someone helping me understand what I’m reading. I often get discouraged & frustrated while reading the bible. I am going to join Reading Through the Bible and I’m going to ask my mom to join me. She has just recently been saved and has expressed to me that she would like to read & understand the bible. This would be such a great opportunity for us to share something so wonderful. Thank you.

  47. Read thru the word with you a couple of years in a row – loved it. But this last year has been a whirlwind lots of good but challenges too. Looking forward to a new year of studying Gods Word with you. Thanks!

  48. Reading through God’s word and a coupon – how wonderful is that?! No, really – the video brought tears to my eyes as God knows I want to understand His word which has brought me to P31. I have enjoyed learning about God through P31 bible studies – to be with P31 daily for 2015 makes me wish we were starting tomorrow. Thank you for wanting to share this experience with us.

  49. This idea speaks to my heart & soul. A couple of years ago I did read thru the Bible, but there was do much I didn’t understand. God has been pushing me to do it again. So this study looks perfect for me. Thanks for letting God speak thru you.

  50. What an amazing idea. I’ve read through the bible before, but to have the videos and fellowship of other women is fabulous. i have the NLT Chronological bible already so it’s time to dust it off. Thank you Wendy for making this available to us.

  51. Wendy, I have missed meeting with you each day, but have been continuing to read and use old notes. I would like to join all of you ladies who are hungry for the Word of God. You know I will be your oldest as I turn 85 years next week. Now I will try and sign up. Will not need the Chronological Bible as I love my five year old one!
Can’t wait to meet all of these ladies!
Thank you Wendy for being obedient to the Lord’s call on yor life.
    Blessings,
    Teeny

    1. Hi Teeny, so glad you will be joining us! I look forward to getting to know you also, as we read through the Word with Wendy and the others. I’m just finishing my second year of RTW. I did Wendy’s Psalm studies first.

  52. Wow! Only God! I was reading His Word this morning, but yearned for more! I am a part of the Before Amen Bible Study, but have never read the Proverbs 31 devotions, until today! That’s what led me to your blog and confirmation that this is was my heart is yearning for-more of Him and learning more about Him! Judges is as far as I’ve gotten in reading through the Bible, so I can’t wait to follow through this coming year! Thank-you for such an awesome opportunity! I am looking forward to being in your ‘classroom’!
    In His love, Rhonda

  53. Thank You Father, Thank you Wendy. I’m so hungry and desperate to know our God that when something like this comes along I find myself craving for this food, the Word of God. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for being so real & authentic. Thank You Lord, All Praise, Thanksgiving, Glory, Honor, Power & Blessings to You Awesome Lover of our souls.
I Love You Jesus and Your body. You say come “My Beloved” I come…………….

  54. I struggle reading the Bible in general and love help from devotionals. But this will be great to have someone to encourage us along the way. I think HS was guiding me today to see this. Thanks!!!

  55. I’ve been reading through the bible this year with the YouVersion bible app and have almost made it to the end – yay!(1st time ever!) I have thought many times that a chronological version would help so much! I think God is nudging me to do it again with you all. Thank you for offering this.

  56. I subscribed to RTW a couple of years ago. Is this a new subscription that I need to do it for 2015? Just making sure I’m excited to start this in 2015.

    1. Gena930, did you try logging into RTW under online studies? If it works, you should be good to go… If it doesn’t work, email Wendy at [email protected], she’ll let you know for sure. See you on January 1st.

  57. Okay, I’m in! I am excited about reading through God’s word fresh and new in chronological order! And I am excited about meeting up with you each day..you are a bright ray of sunshine and I look forward to reading God’s word with you!

  58. I would love to join you and the other ladies in this year long venture. We do not have a ladies Bible study in our church and I really would love to learn along side and connect with like minded women. I have read a bit of a chronological Bible online and it was interesting. It’s time to dive in!!
