RTW October 3

Keep On

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7

My Takeaways

Something Old

When you pray….

Praying is expected, not an option.

Something New

Each part to an effective prayer is rewarded.

  • You pray – you receive
  • You seek – you find
  • You knock – you have an opened door

Ask with confidence and humility. Seek with care and application. Knock with earnestness and perseverance.” (Adam Clarke)

Something to Do

Keep On!

  1. I’ve spent the last 6 months asking, seeking and knocking with respect to a few different life events … seeking His will and wisdom in making decisions regarding jobs, to move or not to move, choosing where to live, etc. And in each prayer, I cried out “Lord, if you don’t want me to do this then close the door”. And in both instances the door swung wide open and I walked through it into utter disaster, chaos and ugliness. I’ve been learning about the sovereignty of God and His goodness which, as Wendy said in today’s lesson “Nobody defines ‘good’ better than God.” In my current living situation, He is conforming me more and more into His image. He is teaching me forgiveness, generosity, stripping me of self/selfishness. From yesterday’s lesson, even, I was made aware that even though my landlord is not being fair or reasonable and she is looking to extract as much money from me as possible in order to let me out of my lease, I am to give her MORE than is due her and I was convicted to let her keep the security deposit (but don’t think that won’t come without the Gospel message being shared with her! Hahaha).

Sometimes what is good to God, looks just the opposite to us. But boy, if we abide in Him through it, we will surely receive Who we ask for, Who we seek and Who is behind the door. Seek first His Kingdom and righteousness….

Thank you Wendy, I can’t express enough how much this ministry of RTW has saved my life this year.
