Be Warned

“Watch Out! I have warned you about this ahead of time!”
Mark 13:23

My Takeaways

Something Old

Are we in the beginning of  birth pains?

Something New

“So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.”  (NIV) Mark 13:23

“But take heed; behold, I have told you everything in advance.”  (NASB) Mark 13:23

Don’t

  • Be misled by counterfeiters (Mark 13:5)
Many will claim to be the Messiah and many will be fooled.
  • Panic when you hear of war (Mark 13:7)
    Nations will be against nations.
  • Alarmed when you are mistreated (Mark 13:9-10)
This will be your opportunity to tell others about Jesus.
  • Be surprised when you see a wacko making us worship his image (Mark 13:14)
If anyone tells you, “There is the Messiah don’t believe it.”

***Before the end comes, the Good News must be told to all nations.  (Mark 13:10)

Something to Do

Watch out! Know the real Truth.

  1. Am I ready for Jesus to return? Am I living like He is coming soon? Am I sharing the Gospel with boldness? Am I being vigilant in prayer – especially for others? Am I representing Jesus in the world today or am I conforming? I read in Guzik’s commentary this statement: “What if I woke up every day and said ‘Jesus is coming soon and I have to live like He’s coming soon’. Would that make my life better or worse?”

It amazes me how many “Christians” don’t behave like Christ-followers. How many are actually ANTI-Bible. They promote things like abortion, same-sex marriage, etc. This hurts my heart so much.

  2. It is so easy to be decieved and sometimes it’s so suttle that we don’t even recoginize what has happened. True discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong but knowing the difference between right and ALMOST right. There is a lot of almost right out in the world today and it is truly dangereous!

  3. Sometimes I just feel for the disciples…trying to understand all this. Looking back, it’s easy! But oh what they went through. They are heroes.
