Don’t Fall For the Bully On The Battlefield
“What are you trusting in that makes you so confident?”
2 Kings 18:19
My Takeaways
Something Old
“What have I done to make you tired of me? Answer me!” Micah 6:3b
Oh, the sound of God’s voice. It makes me shiver. I pray You never sense that I tire of You.
Something New
Often in our weakness, in times of trouble, Satan mocks our trust in God…
- Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7
- Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. (ESV) Psalm 37:5
- When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? (ESV) Psalm 56:3-4
- The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. Proverbs 18:10
- You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. (ESV) Isaiah 26:3-4
Something to Do
Run to the Tower, and trust in the name of the Lord. Not chariots or horses. Don’t be bullied by Satan.
Wow – God is SO good! I feel like today’s lesson is for me! I needed the additional scriptures about trusting in the Lord. He is sovereign and in control of all things! I just accepted an offer on my home – praise the Lord. It was full price and only on the market for 3 days! BUT the inventory in the area I am moving to is so very slim right now and I am praying for the right place – but filled with fear and doubt of being “homeless” (which is a lie because I have family to stay with)…. Those verses in 2 Kings 18 – What are you trusting in (v 19); Who are you counting on (v20); We are trusting in the Lord our God (v22) really stuck out to me today.
When Wendy talked about how satan can’t read our mind – but he watches our behavior – it brought me back to Micah 6:8 – and what the Lord requires of us. Do what is right, love mercy and walk humbly with my God.
NEW: Micah 7:19 – “You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean”. IT IS FINISHED. Jesus trampled our sins under His feet and has separated us from them as far as east is from west. Praise the Lord!
