Stumble-Free Life

He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.
1 Peter 2:8a

My Takeaways

Something Old

Oh Wendy, “respect all human authority.” 1 Peter 2:13

Something New

I wasn’t made to stumble.

I stumble because I disobey.  1 Peter 2:8b

  • I was made for obedience.
  • I was made for joy.
  • I was made for freedom.
  • I was made for an abundant life, a life that is more than I could ever ask or imagine.
  • I was made in the image of God.

Something to Do

Stop stumbling.

  1. 1 Peter 5:2-4 stood out to me today. Peter is talking to the elders of the church about caring for the flock that God has entrusted to them. I felt God asking me “Whose your flock? How are you caring for them?” My flock that God’s entrusted me with currently are my children and my bible study group that I lead. Am I serving them willingly and not grudgingly? Am I being a good example for them to follow? Am I lording my leadership and authority over them or am I humbly serving? Am I focusing on what I’ll get from serving or trusting God to reward as he sees fit? Questions I need to reflect on and make changes in my service.
