Seen By The King

And the King will say, “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”
Matthew 25:40

My Takeaways

Something Old

The least of these are defined as being smaller in rank, size and importance. His servants had clothed, fed, and nursed those who were less fortunate.

Something New

Serve, just serve.

Everything I do is seen by my King.

Something to Do

Praise the Lord for my heritage.

  1. My Takeaways: End Times

Something Old: Jesus continued telling about the end times, especially His second coming. “No one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son Himself. Only the Father knows; and, since you don’t know when they will happen, stay alert and keep watch” (Mark 13:32, 33). I must stay in the word so I know what to expect. When the time comes. I must be ready. I must be faithful to the end, bearing fruit-letting my faithfulness be known. My salvation is not an effect of my good works but good works are effects of my salvation.

Something New: I read lots of good parables to ponder over concerning when Jesus returns . When Jesus returns I won’t be able to barter or buy my way into the Kingdom. I am responsible for my own spiritual condition! What I do today matters for where I will be tomorrow. Today I read in Matthew 25:14-30 The Parable of the Talents. As I read this parable I realized it isn’t talking simply about money, but about my life and my time here on earth. God gives each of us a certain amount of time to live on this earth and a certain amount of gifts and skills.  I have wonder at times if I am just going through the motions of serving others or in reality only worring about myself. When God calls me home, I want to be able to look back and see that I did much with my life – blessing and serving others.  I want to spend my time and gifts giving back to God what God gave to me, something much bigger then just worrying about myself. I want to produce a great harvest of loving, serving and blessing others in my life, so that when I arrive at heaven’s gate at the end of my life I will hear verse 21 from God Himself.  “The master was full of praise. `Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!'” I want to multiply the skills and gifts that God has given me. I want to invest my skills and gifts in loving services to others. At least “doubling” God’s investment in me, if not more.

Something To Do: Live my life today so I can be on Jesus’ right hand side when He comes again to judge the world.
