Standing On His Promises

Not a single one of all the good promises the LORD had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything He had spoken came true.
Joshua 21:45

My Takeaways

Something Old

God has promised

  • To supply every need
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:19)
  • His grace is sufficient for us.
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”  (2 Corinthians 12:9a).
  • His children will not be overtaken with temptation.
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.  (1 Corinthians 10:13)
  • All things work together for good to those who love and serve Him faithfully
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.  (Romans 8:28).
  • Victory for all who believe
For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.  (1 John 5:4)
  • Life eternal and secure
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.  The Father and I are one.   (John 10: 28-30)
  • Those who lose life, find it.
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.  (Matthew 10:39)
  • Forgiveness and cleansing of all sin.
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.  (1 John 1:9)

Something New

  1. My Takeaways:
Favorite promises in no particular order.
    John 3:36
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”
    Matthew 11:28-29
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
    2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
    John 14:13
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Something Old: Joshua 21:45 God proved faithful in every promise he had given Israel.
Something New: God’s promises will always be fulfilled according to his timetable not mine but I know that his word is sure.
Something To Do: Faithfully do what God wants me to do and trust him for my future.
