When Waiting Takes Too Long

When the people saw how long it was taking Moses…
Exodus 32:1a

My Takeaways

Something Old

I still can’t believe Aaron did not get punished. I thought he was a stronger leader. Maybe this proves that even strong leaders can be persuaded.

Something New

Exodus 32:6

Indulge

  • to yield to an inclination or desire; allow oneself to follow one’s will
  • to yield to, satisfy, or gratify (desires, feelings, etc.)
  • to yield to the wishes or whims

When we take matters into our own hands, we can be tempted to

  • Become a part of something we should not be a part of
  • Follow the wrong leadership
  • Disobey God’s instructions
  • Indulge in the forbidden
  • Play the blame game-not take responsibility for our actions.

Something to Do

Stay focused on the right leader, so I will not be pulled in the wrong direction.

  1. In today’s reading I was particularly drawn to the verses about the radiance of Moses’ face when he came down from Mt Sinai. I did a little research and wanted to share what I read in case anyone else was drawn to learn more. It’s a bit long, but very interesting if you have time to study it. Answersingenesis.org

      1. I did as well. And I appreciate the insights that you often share! It is really wonderful to read the Bible together with an extended “family.”
        Best,
        Debbie. (Darena)

  2. My Takwaways:
Exodus 32: 11-13 What a prayer Moses had for God. He was real and prayed what was on his heart. Exodus 32:24. Really Aaron? Make me laugh.

    Something Old:
Exodus 32:27-28 Cancer is like sin- it just keeps spreading until it finally kills you. What sin these Israelites committed! The cancer had to be cut out, taken away before the whole nation was destroyed.

Something New: Thanks to Darena I am better equipped to understand the radiance of Moses’ face when he came down from Mt Sinai. #2143 The Shining of the Face of Moses

    Something To Do:
Remember God is Light, Always walk in the light and take time to fellowship with the Lord.
