Ability Envy

The LORD said to Moses, “Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.”
Exodus 31:1-3

  1. Wendy, girl, preach it! Oh, how I needed to hear this lesson for today. I am dealing with this situation right now. People in my church getting jobs, and service opportunities that I wanted, applied for, prayed for, sought out (and am well-qualified for). But God has a reason. This past week He let me see how precious these people are and how He is using them for amazing things in His Kingdom. I praise Him for this!

  2. I look forward everyday to your videos. I appreciate your honesty and can so relate to you. Today’s lesson was convicting and something I battle often in my life. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in this. I think that’s what I appreciate so much about your lessons…..you are real and we all battle similar human battles. But you also offer hope….bringing our focus where it needs to be….on our God and Saviour. Thank you!

  3. My Takeaways:
    More instructions and laws.

    Something Old:
Priest- the people’s representatives before God until Christ came. Jesus Christ would be the one now to offer a direct relationship with God for anyone who would come to him. This allows me to better understand the significance of what Christ did for me at the cross.

Something New: Aaron was instructed to burn incense on the altar each morning and at twilight, every day, as a regular offering to the Lord Exodus 30:7–8. In the Bible, incense is often associated with prayer. The altar of incense is a symbol of the prayers of God’s people. The altar of incense was situated before the mercy-seat of the Ark. A picture of our Advocate’s standing in the presence of the Father. Christ’s intercession on our behalf is a sweet-smelling savor to God.
    Something To Do:
Pray without ceasing, because God invited me to and because of who God is. Approach God with faith. Recognize His love and power. Admit my sins. Receive grace and resolve to give it. Depend on God’s deliverence. I must always remember that when I pray I’m talking to God, to the father, through the son, by the Holy Spirit.
