TGFABT – Psalm 53

Any Who

God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God?
Psalm 53:2

What is God looking for?

Any who:        Understand

  1. to look at or upon, have insight
  2. to give attention to, consider, ponder, be prudent
  3. to have insight, have comprehension

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10

Any who:        Seek

  1. to resort to, frequent (a place), (tread a place)
  2. to consult, enquire of definition of resort
Noun:   habitual or general going, as to a place or person
Verb:    to go, especially frequently or customarily

When we seek Him we will find Him when we seek Him with all of our hearts.”
Jeremiah 29:13

Read verse 2 again with knowledge of these words.  Boy, very powerful and piercing.

Truth Tuesday

Journal: What truth is God teaching you through Psalm 53?

When I live and respond like there is a no God, I am fool to God and the world. (V1)

Word Study Wednesday

I had to do it. I had to see the true definition of a fool.  I am sorry girls. The word grabbed me and would not let go. If you don’t want to read any further I will understand, really I do. 🙂  Knowledge is power. Knowledge is convicting.

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” Psalm 53:1

  • a silly or stupid person; a person who lacks judgment or sense
  • a person who has been tricked or deceived into appearing or acting silly or stupid: to make a fool of someone
  • an ardent enthusiast who cannot resist an opportunity to indulge an enthusiasm
  • a weak-minded or idiotic person

It is important to note the fool says “There is no God” in his heart. This is what Jesus says about man’s heart, “The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45″ What we tell our heart will eventually come out of our mouth.

Thankful Thursday

Journal: Tell God something that you are thankful for.

I am thankful for God’s sustaining power.  All can do all things through Christ Jesus!

Faith Stretching/Strengthening Friday

Journal: How is God stretching/strengthening your faith?

My faith is being stretched this week as I learn the purification of prayer as I pray  for an offender.
