The Plan

Day 32

Happy Valentines Day! You are loved!

We have been reading a lot about a Default plan, our go-to place when we meet an unglued moment. I have been thinking about my plan—my first response to those  moments. Lysa really stepped on my toes with her thought for the day. Pause for a minute to reread it.

I wrote in my book, What do my reactions tell others about my Jesus? Thinking further, do I repel others from or attract them to Christ? I specifically think of my children and husband. Family can provide many “growth opportunities.” For the sake of our family and all those closest in our sphere of influence we must have a Default plan.

Our plans will be as different as we are. That  is one of the things that I love most about God—His individual love, care, and shaping of His children.  He is not a one-size-fits-all God.

Here my plan.

  • Close my eyes, take a deep breath. (Sometimes more than one.)
  • In the pause decide whether or not I should walk away-saying to those involved, “I need to walk away.”
  • Remember slow at anger, slow to speak (James 1:19)
  • Speak gently (Proverbs 15:1)
  • Repeat as often as necessary

Would you be willing to share your plan?

One Comment

  1. And you’ll feel so much better you did, friend, that spouting off and thinking you feel good “telling them how the cow ate the cabbage” then feeling dread and remorse later.

Have an Awesome day with Jesus!
