Remembering Who we Are

Day 25

I could not help but think of one of my favorite verses as I read our devotion today.  This verse was essential in the building of my firm foundation in Christ. BJ, before Jesus, I got lost in what I was not, what I did not have, and what I could not do. And to be completely honest, even AJ, after Jesus, the struggle, though dormant at times is still there.

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:14

As we begin to learn the discipline of learning to seek sanctification in Him we  become less dependent upon what is not, what we don’t, and what we can’t.  The discipline starts by the practice of this truth. Waking up each morning and asking Him to satisfy us. The key is sit with Him long enough to be filled and refrain from praying on the run.

It’s challenging to get up early, to change our schedule.  We women love our schedules, don’t we? Scheduling time for satisfaction is a change worth making. Is it easy? No. Is it worth it? Yes.

We are satisfied in Him, we are less likely to forget who we are.

  1. I do find I’m trying to pray on the run and it doesn’t work. Forgive me Father in Heaven. It is so hard to wake up earlier than I already do. Thank you Wendy for the challenge.

  2. Such a wonderful reminder as I have been less than enthused with meeting God let alone in the early morning…I am undisciplined…Thank you for the challenge and helping me see there is blessings in the morning
