TGFABT – Psalm 34

“Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.”
Psalm 34:5

“Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.”
Psalm 34:5

To be snatched away, delivered, rescued

The fine print to the free facelift:

Seek the Lord…

Darash (daw-rash’ )
to resort to, require, enquire

Resort to

  • to have recourse for use, help, or accomplishing something, often as a final available option or resource
  • to go, especially frequently or customarily

We have to go to the Lord for help.

Require

  • to have need of
  • to call on and ask authoritatively

We have to need the Lord.

Inquire

  • to seek information by questioning
  • to make investigation

We have to be alright with asking the Lord questions.

Truth Tuesday

Even in times of struggles I can taste and see the Lord’s goodness

Word Study

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (KJV)

We, the righteous will have afflictions (adversity, affliction, distress, displeasure) but the LORD (the Covenant keeping God) will delivereth (defend, deliver, or provide an escape) from them all. (everyone of them)

How is that for a confidence builder?

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful God asks me to seek and pursue peace then leave the results up to Him. I can me a peace pursuer and He can be the peace maker.

Faith Stretching/Strengthening

For the first time in a long time I have been truly hurt by someone I trusted. This weekend I will with the person… talk about s t r e t c h i n g.

  1. Oh magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together! Love it!
The message this week is challenging. Do I praise the Lord at all times and continually? Is my goal everyday to magnify His name? I love that verse 19 blatantly reminds us we will have afflictions. What a wonderful promise follows though: He will deliver us out of them all. But we need to seek Him and praise Him continually. Blessings this week as you read. Take time to read and re-read. Lots of treasures!

  2. I used to think that I wasn’t to go to God for little things only big problems. I know that God does want to hear from me always and to keep centered in him. Yes we all have troubles big and small and may not know the why, however, God will help us through them if we seek him always. Yes, very powerful Psalm and Nancy you always bring things to light that we need to reflect on:).

  3. Truth is I prayed for everyone’s safety at Perry schools for those I knew and love, Nancy, my daughter-in-law, my grandson, my boss’s wife and those I didn’t know during the lockdown. I went directly to God. Our prayers were answered in times of danger! That is the truth for today! Praise God!!!!

    1. Thank you Vicki! Although we were completely safe and well taken care of, it was a very tense and stressful situation on the inside. Our staff and students did great using the training we have been taught. The police department had a specific plan and protocal and followed it to a “T”. So grateful for your prayers.

  4. When we are seeking God we find him everywhere! In a verse of a song, in the beauty of a loved ones face, in nature. I pray that God will reveal his promises to all of us throughout our day. He is there if we just step back and look for him.

Gods truths are like a warm blanket on a cold day. If we wrap our hearts and minds around his word we are comforted.

  5. Truth : those who look to the Lord are radiant. So easy to see when someone is resting and trusting in the Lord during difficult times. Seeking Him gives us a peace that only He can give and helps us to be a witness to those around us.

  6. The words “taste and see” help us see we can know the Lord’s goodness through an intimate personal relationship with God. Our expereinces with Him help us to taste and see and know HIm.

  7. Taste and see. Beautiful words to know we can go to the Lord and seek him and he is there at all times. I think of how many times I go to the Lord any time I want to and he helps me through it all. I cannot imagine living a life without God.
