TGFABT – Psalm 33

The Revealed Word: Right and Pure

“For the Word of the LORD is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.”
Psalm 33:4

The revealed word of God: the law of God is right:

  • its precepts are holy, just, and good;
  • its sanction or penalty is righteous
  • it is impartial unto all
  • it is just in condemning the wicked
  • in acquitting believers on the account of Christ’s perfect righteousness, by which it is magnified and made honorable: the Gospel part of the word is right
  • it publishes right and good things
  • it directs to the right way, to heaven and happiness
  • it makes men right when it works effectually in them
  • it engages them to walk in right ways
  • its doctrines are right or plain to them that have a spiritual understanding given them

and all this is matter of joy and praise!

He continues to disclose the meaning of  things we don’t understand as we study His Word and seek Him.

Truth Tuesday

Verse 4-

He is faithful in all He does.

Since He controls all things, then everything that happens, good and bad, what I understand and don’t understand is a demonstration of His faithfulness.  WOW!!!

Word Study

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting  for the upright to praise him.”
Psalm 33:1(NIV)

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.” (KJV)

Rejoice is more than a quiet cheer of  “Praise the Lord.” It means to cry out, shout for joy, and give a ringing cry.  In other words, lets someone know about about God’s goodness.  We give ringing cries for winning Olympic teams and stars, our favorite professional star, and cry especially loud on the sidelines of our child’s game. Can we do even more for our Lord? (ranan- raw-nan’)

Thankful Thursday

Psalm 33:1b
…”it is fitting for the upright to praise him”

It is beautiful for the correct, right, and pleasing for me to praise the Lord.  I am thankful for praise, so thankful for praise! I don’t have time to maintain any regrets when I think of how much He loves me…

Faith Stretching/Strengthening

The Lord and I have been honest with each other about some struggles I have been facing this year.

  1. This is a complex lesson filled with so much wisdom. One size fits all is a great analogy of what God’s word offers us to live by on this earth and to look forward to in our eternal life with Him.

  2. I love the “one size fits all” analogy, Vickie. Nothing makes me feel better like a joyful songs of praise. As a little girl you could find me swinging and singing praise songs on my swing set! I still sing those songs to my grandson as I rock with him.
This lesson is packed full of images and words to help us walk His way.

  3. Great video study this week. Loved Wendy’s emphasis on the power of God’s Word. I love her quote: “God wants us in his Word, and He wants His Word in us.” He does have things to reveal to each of us every day and the only way to hear Him is to be in His Word.

  4. God is in control of all that happens in my life and I need to listen to his word and follow all he asks of me. Powerful!

  5. I love the truth in verse 4! He IS faithful in ALL He does! So reassuring to know God has my life in His hands!

  6. Psalm 33:11. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. This has been perfect timing to remind me that God is consistent and always keeping his promises. He has a plan and it is much better than mine! Choosing to trust in his HOLY name

  7. I have the freedom to love and rejoice in God’s word because I live in a country with freedom of religion, for that I am very thankful.

  8. So thankful God has given me opportunities to share His love and encouragment with others. I want to see the people around me with His eyes.

  9. God is stretching me to step out of my comfort zone. Trusting Him to give me words and wisdom!
