A Hug and Kiss From My Daddy

I got supper started so I had a minute to post. I just had to tell you about today.

This morning, as I struggled to get out of bed I heard the Lord whisper, “Do you love me?” I answered, “Yes” and I got out of bed. It was cold and the bed was snuggly but I am determined to love the Lord this year. (Romans 8:28-see In the Beginning)

I made my way upstairs and opened His Word. I am reading through the Bible again this year and I am at the story of Joseph. I learned a new lesson from an old story that proved itself very relevant to a situation that a friend of mine at work is dealing with. Isn’t God good to invite us into His story so we can help others. Isn’t His Word awesome in that it is new and fresh, always alive, ready to teach the teachable and willing life? Oh, the joy my friend and I would have missed if I had not gotten out of bed. Our obedience counts! So does our disobedience.

I felt the Lord hug me today. He warmed me inside letting me know that I honored His challenge to love Him by obeying Him this morning when I got out of bed to meet with Him. Honestly girls, it was as if He kissed my check.

I just love Him so.
