The Smell of The Gospel

Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God.
2 Corinthians 2:15a

My Takeaways

Something Old

As a captive of Christ, I can still walk in triumph. This overwhelms me! (2 Corinthians 2:14)

Something New

The gospel:

  • Smells like conviction that leads to life to some… victory.
  • Smells like condemnation that leads to death to others… defeat.

God trusts us to spread the life-giving fragrance of the gospel. Our qualifications come from God.

How I walk determines the aroma I give off. Do I walk as a victor or a victim?

Something to Do

Walk in victory, so others will want to walk in victory.

  1. This was great! We were in Bath and Bodyworks trying out all the smells–my daughter had to leave because it was too much! I love your list of smells. I love the smell of Christmas but hate the smell of coffee. Great analogy to smelling the Gospel!
