Good Soil; Good Harvest

“Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seeds.”
Matthew 13:3b

My Takeaways

Something Old

Seeds were scattered then plowed. Hmm?

We determine the fertility of our soil by our willingness to submit to the truths of the seeds that are put in our heart.

  • Test the fertility of the soil of my heart regularly.
    Are there weeds? Thorns? Rocks?
  • Fertilize the soil of my heart through the reading, studying, and obeying of God’s Word.  Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (NIV) James 1:22
  • Expect a hardy harvest when you hear and accept God’s words and ways. (Mark 4:20)

If we wanna know more, obey more.

Something New

Herod’s business manager, Susanna, followed Jesus.

Something to Do

Hear and do what I hear and understand.

  1. 1.) There is a Facebook thing that pops up: a vision of death knocking at the front door and says “I have come for your houseplants!” Thought of you Wendy!

2.) The movie Son of God or A.D. features Susanna and Joanna and other women who played key roles….very good stuff.

  2. Wendy, you may not have a ‘green thumb’ in this world, but you have planted, watered, and fertilized the Word of God into so many lives. You are a Master’s gardener I my book. Praying now for the seeds you have planted for 2021 (yes, I am paying attention) and that God continues to bless you, your family and your ministry.
