Remember My Future
She defiled herself with immorality and gave no thought to her future.
Lamentations 1:9a
My Takeaways
Something Old
How can you remember your future, if the future hasn’t happened?
Before I knew better:
- Reckless in my behavior.
- Relish in my wants.
- Rebelled against God’s best.
- Remembered nothing about my future.
Now I know better:
Relentlessly pursue God, rather than recklessly attempt life on my own.
Revel in His ways, rather than relish in my own.
Remember my future, rather rebel against it.
Recognize and repent of my sin, rather than foregoing intimacy with God.
Something New
All the things that were carefully crafted by God’s specific design are now being destroyed through God’s sovereignty. (2 Kings 25:8-21)
This makes my heart so sad. I wonder what parts of my design that God has allowed to sovereignly be destroyed in order to direct me back to Him as the One and Only true God.
Something to Do
Know better; do better.
“My Redeemer is faithful and true. Everything He has said He will do. And every morning His mercies are new. My Redeemer is faithful and true.”
In the middle of these hard readings and teachings my heart is led to the lyrics of this song from Steven Curtis Chapman. Say or sing it out today…My Redeemer is faithful and true. Blessings.
