I Am A Sanctuary

“Therefore, tell the exiles, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Although I have scattered you in the countries of the world, I will be a sanctuary to you during your time in exile.”
Ezekiel 11:16

My Takeaways

Something Old

If the LORD says it is going to happen, it is going to happen. (Ezekiel 12:28)

He can be trusted. He is faithful and true to His people and to His Word.

Something New

Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

Sanctuary in this verse is the Hebrew word miqdash (mik-dawsh).

A sanctuary is a holy place set apart for the purpose of worship.

This being true

  • We are holy. (1 Peter 1:16)
  • We are set apart. (1 Peter 2:9)
  • We are created for the purpose of worship. (John 4:24)

We make every room a sanctuary.

Sanctuary

Something to Do

Live like the sanctuary I am.

  1. Thanks Wendy for the lesson and for the beautiful praise song. Just finished singing it with tears running down my face! I too miss those days of reverence being shown for God’s House. I think I understand the reasoning- to be more welcome to the “world”, but often wonder what God thinks. Oh well, off to get dressed for church. Think I’ll dress up a little! ?❤️

  2. We sang that song at mass today! Timing always amazes me.
I have always loved the song and it gets used for a lot of youth ministry events.
