The Expectancy Of What Is To Come

For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!
Isaiah 64:4

My Takeaways

Something Old

“Help me Lord, to have a humble and contrite heart who trembles at Your Word.” (Isaiah 66:2)

Something New

châkâh (khaw-kaw’): (Ha- Ka) adhere to; await

Await:

  • to remain inactive; be available in readiness

Adhere to

  • to stay attached; stick fast; cleave; cling
  • to be devoted in support or allegiance; be attached as a follower or upholder
  • to hold closely or firmly

Those who wait:

  • Maintain your relationship with the Lord.
  • Tarry with God rather than running ahead in a rush ahead of God by manipulating (Don’t sacrifice the future God has for you on the altar of the immediate.)
  • Do what you know to do until you know to do something else.
  • Be prepare for something you’ve never experienced before.

Something to Do

Live humbly with a contrite heart and tremble at His Word.

  1. I LOVED your shirt, Wendy!!! This lesson is, once again, perfectly timed for me as I wait to find my new home. Praise the Lord that my home sold quickly, but I’m having trouble finding another one in the new area I am moving. I have to keep holding myself back from making a decision based on fear. “What if I’m homeless”? (I won’t be, I have family I can stay with which could actually be God’s will so that I can share and live the Gospel with them). Adhere to – stick to God. This is what I need to focus on, Cling to him, stay with Him, don’t rush ahead of Him – I love the quote “Don’t sacrifice the future God has for you on the altar of the immediate”

Isaiah 65:1 – Image God saying “Here I am. Here I am” and being ignored? Yes, I do this way to often – leave Him out of things. He is constantly calling out to me and I am constantly saying “i’ve got this” and doing my own thing. Forgive me Lord

New: 65:2 – “All day long I opened my arms to a rebellious people” made me think of Jesus on the cross – His arms nailed open for my sin and rebellion.
