RTW June 24

Think The Right Way

The LORD has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does.
Isaiah 8:11

My Takeaways

Something Old

Have I rejected the LORD’s gentle care?  (Isaiah 8:6)

Something New

This reminds me of Romans 12:2, Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

We can follow/take God’s words to Isaiah to heart.

  • Don’t live in dread, calling everything a conspiracy.
  • Make the LORD holy in my life.
  • Fear Him and trust Him to protect me.
  • Preserve His teachings (tie up… bind it… so they aren’t changed – pass on them)
  • Wait on Him.
  • Put my hope in Him.

Something to Do

Don’t think like everyone else.

  1. My takeaway was the same verse that Wendy has as the key verse for today: “The LORD has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does.”

Then the 3 verses about God’s Word:
“Preserve the teaching of God; entrust his instructions to those who follow me.”
“But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance?”
“Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.”

Praise God as I look forward to “that day” which is spoken about in Isaiah 11.
