Complain Or Comply

But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy.”
2 Kings 5:10

My Takeaways

Something Old

Naaman was the chief military commander of Syria, a persistent enemy to both Israel and Judah. Naaman’s wife’s servant girl spoke up about the healing abilities of Elisha. How interesting that a Jewish girl was taken captive to Syria.

Servant took 10 talents… estimated 1.2 million

King of Israel, Jehoram didn’t have a relationship with God or Elisha. How could he heal?

How many times do I pray God for healing, but argue with His methods?

How many times do I seek God for leading, but argue with the direction?

How many times do I ask God for help, but refuse to obey?

How many timed do I pursue restoration, but refuse to do the work?

Something New

I love Elisha’s prayer in 2 Kings 6:17.

I wonder if our hills are filled with horses and chariots of fire. How cool would that be?

Something to Do

Don’t complain about God’s methods.

  1. And look how many times God sent the message to Naaman through a servant….you never know who the gatekeepers in our lives are!

I also love the part where the person’s eyes are opened and he could see the chariots of fire. How cool would that be? To see just a part of what God sees? Trust. We might be surrounded by enemies but God has the enemies surrounded!
