That I

… that I may …
Psalm 86:11

My Takeaways

Something Old

David is tried, but he keeps trusting.

Something New

When I’m worn out and tired, what do I ask of God?

David asked to be …

Teachable and pure,

  • Teach me your ways, Oh LORD (Yahweh) that I may live according to Your truth. (Psalm 86:11)
  • Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor You. (Psalm 86:11)

So that he could

  • Live according to God’s truth – abundant mercy, reliability, and faithfulness
  • Honor God – fear, revere His Name.

Something to Do

Examine what I ask/pray for. Is my prayer for God’s glory or my gain?

  1. My takeaway verses from today’s reading:
-The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged. (Ps 69:32)
-But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. (Ps 86:15)
-Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. (Ps 68:19)
-Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may love you. (Ps 86:11)

  2. Psalm 101 verse 2 is my take away for today. The last part of the verse says I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. Sometimes When I look back on my daily everyday life with those close to me I see I should have handle situations with more integrity and less selfishness. So this is my prayer and take away for today. To lean on God more in the everyday and live a life of integrity that my everyday witness for God would glorify Him.
