On Our Island Of Exile

“I, John, am your brother and your partner in suffering and in God’s Kingdom and in the patient endurance to which Jesus calls us. I was exiled to this island of Patmos for preaching the Word of God for my testimony about Jesus.”
Revelation 1:9

My Takeaways

Something Old

How can I worship God on my island?

Something New

Between the letters to the churches and the seals, God choose to allow John to experience worship at the throne of the Lamb.

“Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!” (7:10)

“Amen! Blessings and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever! Amen. (7:12)

My island of exile can be a place where I hear from God.

Something to Do

Listen for God to speak… everywhere.

  1. Perfect timing for this word Wendy. This has been a hard year and I’ve felt like I’ve been on an island alone. When I have worshipped it has been through tears and no words. I am open and quietly listening for Gods small voice as I seek this new year in being open to His new leading especially to a new church???
