Life Can Change In A Day

King Nebuchadnezzar took all of Jerusalem captive, including all the commanders and the best of the soldiers, craftsmen, and artisans-10,000 in all.
2 Kings 24:14a

My Takeaways

Something Old

I never like this part of the story.

Something New

Whether the change is good or bad, our response should be the same:

  • Obey God
  • Serve God faithfully
  • Seek Him in His Word and through prayer
  • Care for those who are in need and less fortunate

Something to Do

Follow the rules, Wendy.  Follow the rules.

  1. Thanks Wendy for today’s lesson. It really spoke to my heart that life can change in a day either good or bad. I have been unemployed for a long time trying to get a job but no job offers. I feel like I have applied lots of places and have had job interviews but nothing seems to be working out for me. I am getting tired of the job search and filling out job applications and doing job interviews to end up still not getting the job because they pick someone else. Hopefully one of these days my life will change and I will get a job and a husband as well still waiting for marriage. It is hard waiting but I hope the right job and man are worth waiting for. Loved the 4 points that we should always have whether the change is good or bad.

  2. My Takeaways: God Is Always in Control

Something Old: I continued to read the many messages given to Jeremiah of Babylon’s destruction. God was reassuring the faithful remnant that he was in control. Judah was being destroyed and it’s people taken away. But that didn’t matter, because God had a plan. He
    was in control.

Something New: God brings glory to himself by allowing us to do what we want, but stopping us from doing more than he allows. Then uses our evil ways to accomplish His purposes-exactly what he did with Babylon. “Listen, Babylon, for I have set a trap for you. You are caught, for you have fought against the Lord.(Jer. 50:24). Our God is truely amazing!

Something To Do: I never need to question God’s ways. Remember that He is in control. I must always put my trust in Him, because He uses the evil that people do to discipline me and to accomplish the good that He has in store for me. Now who can ever out do that!
