Revival Calls for Radical

There the king read to them the entire Book of the Covenant that had been found in the LORD’s Temple.
2 Kings 23:2b

My Takeaways

Something Old

“that had been found”

Wow. What if I did not know where my Word was?

Something New

2 Kings 23:3
The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the LORD’s presence.  He pledged to obey the LORD by keeping all His command, laws, and decrees will all his heart and soul.

Revival calls for Radical!!

What does radical ask us to do?

Block that show, stop watching those movies, change your radio presets, seek forgiveness and restoration, leave your job, dress differently, adjust your friendship and your finances, select different reading material, treat your husband better, respect your children, honor your parents, stand up for what is right…

Something to Do

Live radically! Enjoy the revival!

  1. My Takeaways: Repent

Something Old: I continued to read about Josiah today. He was an amazing King. His desires were to bring the people back to obedience. He knew sin when he saw it and took action to eliminate it. He was a wise King and removed situations from the people that might turn sinful. I need to he like King Josiah. I need to not only remove sinful actions from my life but eliminate any type of temptations that could cause me to slip.

Something New: The short little book of Nahum was powerful for me today. “There is no healing for your wound; your injury is fatal. All who hear of your destruction will clap their hands for joy. Where can anyone be found who has not suffered from your continual cruelty?” (3:19)
Nineveh reaped what they had sown. God spared the Nineveh of Jonah’s day, but the Nineveh of Nahum’s day rejected any opportunity they had to repent. God offers forgiveness to all who will ask it of Him The only point at which it is too late to be forgiven is the point of death.
“The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished.” (1:3)
God is patient and slow to anger. He gave Ninevah the opportunity to profess Him as their Lord. When a nation turns away from God to serve their own motives, God intervenes with judgment. Thats what happened to Ninevah. As a Christian it is my duty to stand up for biblical principles and scriptural truth. I need to learn from what history has already taught. When I take seriously the words of God and make it a priority to obey them, the Lord will do a work in my heart and mind. I need to learn from the experiences of Ninevah.

Something To Do: Repent while I still have time. Avoid situations that might cause me to sin. Stand firm on my moral standards, no compromising. Put my trust in God.
