  1. My Takeaways: The Journey Begins

Something Old: Picture the scene, thousands of Israelites making their annual trip to worship in the temple in Jerusalem. Singing these psalms of ascent helping them to keep their focus on God and to get closer to Him, all the while knowing where they have come from. Psalms of Ascent are all about going to meet with God, to worship him in the beauty of his presence.

Something New: As I read these Psalms today I tried to apply them to my life. My first and foremost desire is to be with Jesus and to meet with him. This is a journey that began with my conversion and ends with heaven. In between I must live in this world but not belong to it. As I journey through this world I’ll pray to God for His help to keep me on track, because He is the one and only person who I can depend on. When I pray to God to lead me, I must be patient and do things His ways and not to trust my ways. Throughout this journey I need not be afraid because I have all the protection I need from my father above. He will never fail me. There will be moments when I fail, days that bring hardships and times when I am burden with great sorrows and grief, but I will remember God’s great power and know that joy is coming! The greatest joy in my journey is not that I am focusing on a temple, but a person, the person of Jesus Christ, who is with me wherever I go.

Something To Do: Acknowledged God’s unfailing love and full redemption.

    1. Simply LOVE your thoughts and the way you express them. What comes though is your genuine love for Jesus. It encourages me in my own walk and my own desire to be with Him. Thank you.
