Request For Vindication

Declare me innocent, O Lord…
Psalm 26:1

My Takeaways

Something Old

Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night you hear my voice, but I find no relief. Psalm 22:2

Regardless how

  • quickly God responds to David, he remembers God is holy. (Psalm 22:3)
  • rejected David feels, he remembers God’s faithfulness. (Psalm 22:9)
  • weak David feels, he recognizes his strength is found in Christ. (Psalm 22:19)
  • David’s circumstances are, he responds with praise. (Psalm 22:22)

Something New

Vindication: to clear, as from an accusation, imputation, suspicion

Before I ask God to test, try, and examine my mind heart and mind I need to verify the vindication indicators.

Vindication indicator:

  1. Do I walk in integrity? (Psalm 26:1)
  2. Have I trusted the Lord without fail? (Psalm 26:1)
  3. Am I keeping good company? (Psalm 26:4-5)
  4. Do I uphold justice, defending the innocent? (Psalm 26:6)
  5. Do I regularly proclaim the Lord’s wonderful deeds? (Psalm 26:7)

Something to Do

Don’t live in my rightness.

  1. My Takeaways: Sing with David

Something Old: The Psalms are Israel hymn book. They allow the people to worship the one and true living God. There is joy in singing. David knew this and he poured his heart out into his worship songs. He writes about joy, repentance, anger, mourning, theology, etc. David was honest in his writings, he didn’t hold back. How great is our God and worthy is his praise. The Psalms help me to realize this.

    Something New: Psalm 19
God reveals himself through nature-he is impossible to measure or calculate and I am so very limited. God is so holy and poweful and I am such a sinner. God is full of grace and loves me enough to free me from my guilt! To know God and His story is the greatest gift of all.

Something To Do: Thank God for who he is and all of his creation. Tell others, let them know the way to salvation. Give and pray for the missionaries that are sharing the God News in all the different languages around the world. Come to know God and who he is so I can live out his desires for me. Pray that God’s love will guide me in everything I say, do and think.

  2. My first post should have went for yesterday 🙁 I seem to do that every time I get behind. But anyway I’m on tack now.

My Takeaways: David continues to pour his heart out to God.

    Something Old: Psalm 23
Become an obedient follower of my Great Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ for my life today and all eternity.

    Something New: Psalm 25:4
“Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.” I am so very blessed to live in the United States and have access to the word of God, the Bible. By staying in the word and living by the truths revealed in His word, I have no doubt that God will guide me and give me direction for my life. The mighty, powerful, wise, perfect, righteous, holy, God is a friend to me. What more could I ever want.

Something To Do: Get to know my friend by staying in the word and following His guidance. Ask for His direction in my life. Fall totally in love with who He is in comparison to who I am. Choose His ways over all other ways.
