Something to Do
My Takeaways: Unfailing Love
Something Old: Psalm 103:12 “He has removed our sins as far from us as the East is from the West.” Oh how true I know this to be. I must constantly remind myself that if I am to follow God I too need to model this type of forgiveness. I don’t need to dig up the past. I need to forgive and forget as God does.
Something New: “Unfailing love.” These two words appear in the Bible 121 times (NLT), 78 of which are in the psalms. Today, we read these words four times. When I discovered this information I decided to look closely at these words in today’s reading. I found them 103:8, 103:11,108:4 and109:26. Do I really fully understand what this means?
God created me in His image. I am dear to Him simply because I am His. Despite my sins and shortcomings God loves me. Even though I may deny Him, disappoint Him, or despise Him, His love for me does not waver. He pursues me, no matter what I do. In fact, He loves me so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die for me, to redeem me, and make me right with Him.
God’s love is not going away; it is undeniable, immovable, and unflappable. He loves me with an everlasting love! His love is not stingy or conditional, but rather He lavishes His love on me; it is free and abundant. There is no denying it God loves me with an unfailing love! I am loved by someone who will never stop loving me. His love never fails! What encouragement and joy I have in knowing this.
Something To Do: Praise God for His unfailing love for me. Understand what this really means.
