There’s Joy In Searching

But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you.
Psalm 70:4a

My Takeaways

Something Old

We have it all kinds of wrong, if we think our deepest joy can be manufactured in our position, power, or prosperity.

Our deepest joy will not be generated from our circumstances. Our deepest joy will be generated in our seeking of our great God.

  1. My Takeaways: Lead and live by God’s standards

Something Old: Psalm 86:11 “Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.” A verse that I have put to memory. No matter how well I know and follow God I can always ask him to increase my awareness and improve my obedience.

Something New: “All the nations you made will come and bow before you, Lord” (86:9). The development of individual nations was God’s idea. Since all men and nations were created by God, then all men and nations are accountable to God and His commandments. There is no one like our God among the gods of the nations. Our God has proven that He alone is the Lord of heaven and earth, and there is no other. While Jesus, at His first coming, offered the only way to be made right with God, when He comes for the second time, He will not return as Savior but as Judge. That will be the day of reckoning for all men and nations. Their rebellion will be checked; and, whether they believed in Him or not, they will bow before His presence and confess that He alone is God of the nations.

Something To Do: Open my heart to your ways. Never forget that the Lord alone is God!
