My Takeaways
Something Old
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? (NIV) 1 Corinthians 6:19
Something New
- God created the world with exactness.
- The Ark was created with exactness.
- God created me with exactness.
Exactly (English) in an exact manner; precisely; accurately; every respect; just:
Exactly– (Hebrew) Kole: all, the whole all, the whole of any, each, every, anything; totality, everything
Something to Do
God loved and created me with exactness. Live up to my creating. Follow the Lord with exactness.
Obey with exactness. Complete with exactness.
Something Old
Exodus 27:21, “Aaron and his sons will keep the lamps burning in the LORD’s presence day and night.” I love the fact that these lamps were kept lit by oil. And they were to be continually maintained and never allowed to go out. Oil is seen throughout the Bible as a symbol for the Holy Spirit and as “temples” today we are also to be constantly allowing the light of Jesus to shine forth….never neglecting it …and never allowing it to go out.
Something New
Exodus 28:33, “Make pomegranates out of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and attach them to the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them.”
A short word study indicates that the fruit, pomegranate, had great significance amongst the people of this time and it’s image was even included on ancient coins of Judea. Jewish tradition indicates it is a symbol of righteousness and is eaten on Rosh Hashanah, representing fruitfulness, knowledge, learning and wisdom. Some Jewish scholars speculate it was the ‘forbidden fruit” of the Garden of Eden. (It’s name means seeded apple).
Something To Do
Remember that we are a Royal Priesthood , a chosen people, and though we may not wear ornate robes to show our separation to God, as did Aaron in Exodus 28:2, we are to be showing others the goodness of God, for He called us out of the darkness into His wonderful light. (I Peter 2:9)
I so enjoyed your takeaways. What truths they revealed- thanks for sharing.
My Takeaways: The Tabernacle, a portrait of Jesus Christ.
Something Old:
The Mercy Seat, Exodus 25:17. A place of propitiation for sin, resulting in peace with God. Jesus was placed on the mercy seat when he was crucified. Throughout scripture God showed Mercy to those who displayed a repenting heart. His Mercy is stronger and covers what the law requires. The mercy of Christ covers our sin it is above the law because of this we can have a life rather than the death we deserve.
Something New:
This was pointed out to me when I went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We saw the passion play, but before the play we had the opportunity to go on a holy land tour. During this tour we saw a replica of the tabernacle and listened to Charles Robinson explain how everything about the tabernacle pointed to Christ. If you haven’t visited Eureka Springs Arkansas check it out.
Exodus 26
Anyone Desiring entrance into the Tabernacle must go through the one and only gate. All who desire to enter Heaven will do only through Jesus. He is the only door that opens to heaven. The gate is decorated with the colors blue, purple, red, and white. Blue speaks of Heaven. Jesus is identified as a man from Heaven. The Color Purple speaks of loyalty. He is our Royal priest. Red of course speaks of a sacrifice. Jesus is our sacrifice. The color white speaks of purity. He was and is without sin.
The Gate of the Tabernacle always faced East. According to scripture we will see Jesus return in the Eastern sky.
Something To Do:
Tell everyone I know the Good News. Open my Bible and listen to God’s voice. I pray that I will carry the very presence of God in my heart. I will be not be silenced. I cannot fail to reveal the greatest treasure of all time, eternal life through Jesus Christ my Lord.
