My Takeaways

Something Old

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.” (ESV)
John 15:9

“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.”  (ESV)
John 15:10

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples.”  (ESV)
John 8:31

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”  (ESV)
John 15:4

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. (ESV)
1 John 4:13

Something New

Abide: meno
to sojourn, tarry, not to depart, to continue to be present

He wants to be the center of me.

  1. My Takeaways: God continues to organize the tribes and the Israelites continue to do “everything as the Lord had commanded Moses” Leviticus 2:34, 3:16, 42, 51

Something Old: God has perfect order and organization. Nothing is accomplished in God’s kingdom without order and organization, though we cannotalways see it or understand it.

Something New: So interesting to me how God placed each tribe in a specific place around His Tabernacle, Terbernacle of Meeting. The Tabernacle was in the center. God was always present in the center of His people.

Something To Do: Do I always accept God’s order and organization, even when I don’t understand it? Am I focusing on God, is He the center of my life and not other people? Am I selfish, wanting to do things my way instead of the Lord’s way? Submit to God’s way, if he can organize and order this universe he certainly has the power to organize and order my life. I need to make God the center of my life.
