Pray To

It was a pleasing aroma, a special gift presented to the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded him.
Leviticus 8:21b

My Takeaways

Something Old

Burning carcass stinks, but sacrifice is pleasing to the Lord.

God smells purification and holiness.

Something New

Let’s pray for a …

  • Love and respect for the Lord,
  • Flawless surrender,
  • Lifestyle of obedience that will glorify God.

This kind of love leads to complete liberty.

Something to Do

Pray to.

  1. My Takeaways: God continues to instruct His people. They continue to follow His commands and learn.

    Something Old:
Leviticus 7:22-25 They were not to eat the fat, it was considered the best part of the meat. This was set aside for God because he always got their best.

Something New: I think it is amazing how the Israelites did everything the Lord commanded. What amazing strength this showed. They truly did love the Lord. They listened and obeyed. Imagine how different our world would be today if we followed their lead.

    Something To Do:
John 14:15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Live so Christ can approve my life. As John Piper puts it, “Loving Jesus is not a matter of doing excellent things. It’s a matter of delighting in an excellent Savior.” Am I pleased with Him? Do I feel pleasure in Him? Do I esteem, admire, enjoy, treasure and stand in trembling, happy awe of him? That’s what he commanded of the Israelites and what he commands of me today. Am I obeying?
