Re-Dedication

On the day Moses set up the Tabernacle, he anointed it and set apart as holy. He also anointed and set apart all its furnishing and the altar with its utensils.
Numbers 7:1

My Takeaways

Something Old

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (NASB) 1 Corinthians 3:16

Temple: a shrine, that part of the temple where God himself resides.

  • a sanctuary-divine dwelling-place
  • a temple- sacred abode
  • the place of divine manifestation

Dedication

  • The act of dedicating
  • a ceremony marking the official completion or opening of a public building, institution, monument

Dedicate

  • to set apart and consecrate to a deity or to a sacred purpose
  • to devote wholly and earnestly, as to some person or purpose

Something New

A re-dedication of our lives to Christ:

Mind
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2

Mouth
Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. Proverbs 10:19

Eyes
But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Habakkuk 1:13a

Ears
Intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge. Proverbs 18:15

Hands
But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Matthew 6:3

Feet
Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established. (NASB) Proverbs 4:26

Heart
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6

Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

Something to Do

Rededicate myself to my Lord.

  1. My Takeaways: Oh my, I found today’s reading very boring and monotonous, but God wanted it in the Bible. He wanted us to know what was given.

    Something Old:
This is just one chapter today, but a very long chapter. 2nd longest chapter in the Bible next to Psalm 119.

    Something New:
I wonder why God felt that this was so important that it needed to go into the Bible? It just sounds like the same stuff over and over again-same gifts different names. Do you think God was so very pleased with the gifts given and just wanted to show his appreciation by taking the time to recognize each person and their gifts? After all this did take 12 whole days! Maybe we are suppose to see how obedient they were. Maybe the princes were just so very thankful for what God did that God wanted to remind us the importance of giving thanks to the many blessings he gives.

    Something To Do:
Like the Israelites, I don’t want to give my offerings to buy God’s favor. I want to give to God because of the blessings God has already given to me. I need to count my blessings everyday and give back what God has so generously given to me.
1 John 4:19 “We love him, because he first loved us.”
