TGFABT – Psalm 65
You…
“Praise awaits you…”
Psalm 65:1
Psalm 84:11 (Psalm 34:8) “For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”
The “no good thing” is conditional:
- Walk by faith and integrity with sincerity of heart.
If I am not experiencing the good things then ask:
- Am I walking by faith and in integrity with sincerity of heart? Am in a right-standing with God?
- If I want it and don’t have it, it is because it is not good for me.
- It is not up to make to make every situation good.
Truth Tuesday
Journal: What truth is God teaching you through Psalm 65?
He is good and everything He gives is good and what He does not give is not good for me.
Word Study Wednesday
This is not part of our word study but I just read verses 5-7 and noticed the commas. In my previous readings I stopped instead of paused. Wow! What a powerful statement when when you read it respecting the pauses. Try it.
“O thou that hearest prayer unto thee shall all flesh come.” (V2)
O thou that hearest prayer (attentively, call gather together, carefully, certainly, consent, consider) unto thee shall all flesh (mankind) come.
8085 shama (shaw-mah’)
1320 basar (baw-sawr’)
God attentively and carefully considers our prayers. All mankind, everyone will come and pray to God. Does that should familiar? I immediately thought of
Romans 14:11
“It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'”
What amazes me about our God is that no matter who comes to Him, He will listen. The ones who have offended Him and offended the ones He loves, He will listen. This is so hard from me to understand and yet I appreciate that I serve a God who shows this much grace.
Because this much grace is given to me, I should show this much grace to others.
Thankful Thursday
