The God of the Impossible

“On that day the sources of light will no longer shine, yet there will be continuous day! Only the Lord knows how this could happen. There will be no normal day and night, for at evening time it will still be light.”
Zechariah 14:6-7

We are drawing close to the end of the Old Testament in our chronological reading. We start reading The New Testament in just two days!!! It has been a wonderful journey so far. I have learned so many new things. I’m constantly amazed at the life of the Word of God.

Many of the Old Testament prophets foretell of things to come upon Jesus’ return, while other prophets tell of events surrounding the exile of God’s people from Jerusalem to Babylon as well as after their captivity. The verse I shared today is from the prophet Zechariah and most definitely refers to Heaven. Let’s take a peek at the center of the verse—Only the LORD knows how this could happen.

Indeed, only the Lord knows how there will be continuous day though the sources of light we know will no longer shine. (Personally, I can’t wait for that day!)

When I read this verse last week, I rejoiced at the hope of being in the presence of the continuous glorious light of my Savior but right now, there seem to be uncertainties and impossibilities surrounding me. Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not up at night or overwhelmed by them. There is no pity party over here.

This verse was intriguing. The possibility of the impossible coming to fruition in my life supercharged me. Though we face circumstances that seem impossible, we serve a very possible God—an all things are possible God, all things according to His perfect will for life of His children.

Are you barely hanging on today, my friends? Did you wake up to uncertainties and impossibilities? Surrender your dreams, heartaches, and hopes to Him. Trust our very trustworthy and faithful God. He is the Master of the impossible!

  2. Timely! I coordinate a volunteer reading buddy program. We start up
    today and 3 of my 4 volunteers can’t make it. Compared to lot of life issues, this is small, but today this seems like an impossible obstacle. But…..He is the God if the impossible! Trust!

  6. My family has fallen apart. The man I have been married to for more than 20 years, and still love, has left me (and God). My son is very ill with depression and almost fallen from faith. My body is tired and sick, and my spirit is weak. I fell like drowning in sin and pain. Thank you for your prayers and God bless you all!!

  9. Prayers for me and my family. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of this year. It’s been a rough year so far…. physically, mentally and financially. Thank you for the prayers.

  10. Please pray God’s favor and truth. My husband and I are in a lawsuit. Someone where I thought we would be. Papers need to be sent to the attorney in a few days and I am overwhelmed. Need the peace that only God can give. Please also pray for my sister who is struggling with depression. Pray that we can get her to a Christian counselor. In Jesus’ name and His will be done. AMEN.

  11. I would like to request prayers for a few different people. First my husband, I pray that he opens his heart to Jesus. He says he “believes” but his actions do not show that he has actually accepted Jesus into his heart. Second, my daughter has had health issues for the past 3 months that seem to follow an autoimmune process, but they cannot figure out what is actually happening. All tests have come back normal, but she has lost the majority of her eyesight in one eye, among other things. And, thirdly, we have some family friends that have tried for 2 years to get pregnant. They have spent thousands of dollars and still no pregnancy. Thank you soooo much for your gift of prayer.

    1. Unanswered prayers make us all anxious. Sometimes God says yes and at times He will say no. Please continue to pray as I will for you and know that the answer will be His will and not ours. Stay focused and continue to be positive.

  17. Please pray for my sister. She is a lost sheep and is very sick and can’t make it home on her own. She needs prayer to find God, to find Jesus, to find Faith is something. Pray that she knows I am here waiting for when she decides she needs my help. I Jesus’ name I ask for prayer.

Pray for my husband to submit to God. He is saved but doesn’t show the evidence.   22. A fiend of mine recently (within this year) lost her husband and soul mate to a 10 year bout of cancer. She just received the news that she has tumors on her lungs and brain. I ask for Jesus’ almighty faith, strength and comfort for her to endure.

    1. May the Holy Spirit fall fresh on her today and let her hear the whisper of the Lord. May his healing hear show her God who Heals. In JESUS name.. Amen

    1. God answers the prayers of mothers. God is in control of all things. I lift up your sons with confidence that God will direct your sons path and give them discernment as they journey in the direction of God.

  27. Our Senior Pastor who is in his late 30’s is having a difficult time with the imminent death of our (his older mentor) Associate Pastor. The news is recent. May Jon know the peace that surpasses all understanding as we all lift him up, and David as he prepares to meet the Lord he loves so much, may he know comfort, love and peace.

  38. Our family needs prayer regarding a restaurant that we opened approx. 10 months ago. It has been a total struggle financially. We started out with a bang and then had a few months of really bad weather that took a huge toll on us. We have great food, and people love the place, just need more customers to make it. Thanks for your prayers.

  45. Hello,
    Would you mind praying for me to quit smoking. The problem is I enjoy it and it has been a real struggle for me to even want to quit. You could say I’m very stubborn. I have COPD and if I don’t quit it will kill me sooner rather than later. I’ve had other family relatives with this same disease one of which has passed away. My Mom also has it. You’d think that would deter me from doing it but it hasn’t. Please please, I ask you to pray from a deep intervention from the Lord to help me quit.

  51. Please pray for my husband’s salvation, our marriage and family relationships. I have been standing for my marriage after my husband of 32 yrs filed for divorce. It is scheduled to finalize in October. Our children have shut him out of their life’s as he pursues this path.

Another offer was placed on it today but the sellers are giving us 2 days to make an offer as well if we really want it.
