I am so thankful you stopped over to visit from Encouragement for Today!

Jesus’ girls pray prayers upon prayers at all times on all occasions. We don’t have to know specific details we just need to pray. Your visit means you either need prayer or want to offer prayer because that’s what Jesus’ girls do.

If  you need to prayer leave the following comment—nothing else.  How will anyone know what to pray if I don’t leave any details? The Apostle Paul has answer to your question, a answer you can trust.

Romans 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.  And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

If you want to offer prayer, pause and pray for someone who has asked for prayer. I also have several lovely friends who have committed to pray prayer upon prayers today.

Let’s be women who storm the gates of Heaven with prayers upon prayers!

  1. Hi Wendy, thanks for your encouraging message this morning. It really inspired me to also pray prayer upon prayer.

      1. I ask for prayers to remain strong and humble in my marriage. When he is silent and distant, my mind wanders with what ifs…what if he doesn’t love me? What if he is doing things he shouldn’t? And then I know how hard he’s working and know that he cares for his family. Bring me back oh Lord to focus on You. Help me to do my part, to love, serve, and forgive all the time.

        1. I am hearing you, Stephanie, and wrestle with this myself. The what-ifs can be more dangerous than if something were truly going on. I’ll pray for us both that we can consistently know the peace that comes from more fully trusting that God directs our marriages. He sees things clearer than we ever could and He knows what we and our husbands need to be one. The Holy Spirit will help you to redirect our thoughts away from what-ifs and toward gratitude and lovingkindness. Blessings!

      2. Heavenly Father, I pray over these precious, precious women. I lift them up to you Lord. Give them strength Lord, strength that come from You. Give them wisdom Lord. Give them healing in their bodies and in the family in friends. YOU Lord are our healer. You hear us when we cry out to You. Bless these women. Bless their families.         1. I too need a right now prayer for my marriage. I’m asking that the understanding for both my husband and I be made clear and plain. There are so many dividing factors within this marriage, I feel like I am at a lost and don’t know which way to go. OH BUT GOD!!!   4. Prayers upon prayers .That is so good. I realized that i needed to dig deep to see who is my other Jesus girl that I ask to pray for me when going through things? There are a few but I’m thankful for them. I would ask for prayer now for that area that it is hard to ask others for prayer for. As I’ve been dealing with some fertility issues, I handle it well but of course I have my rough days to get through. That’s the area I would ask for prayer in.

    I am also asking for prayer. Since my dad passed away I have sold his house and close on it this Tuesday morning. I need to get everything moved out by the time I sign papers. I have very little help in getting everything moved out and a place to take it to. So my request is that God will send along the help I need.

      1. Thank you so much for your prayers as they were appreciated and answered. Around 2:30am of September 30 I awoke and started walking the floor in the hotel. As I was walking back and forth I was praying and asking God for some help in getting my dads house packed up and more important cleaned out. How to move it and where to move everything. The night before I had spoke to some women at a church located behind my dads house. I told these women what I needed and did they know of someone in need and someone willing to help. Well the next morning as I over there and packing praying and praising there was a knock at the door and a woman that works in the school district and helps people in need offered to take it all and would have someone there that afternoon to carry it out. I told her how I had been praying and believing for Gods help. It was bitter sweet in letting go of their house and their things but I know it would be distributed to those in need. Thank you again. It jus goes to show God is never late as He is always on time.

    I’ve been going through alot in all ares of my life, personal, spiritual,financial,emotional,health it is like i’ve been tested at every turn, i’ve wanted to give up so many times but i thank God for the people in my life who has supported me and encouraged me to push on, recently though i’ve stopped praying because i just feel like my prayers are not being heard even though i know the Lord hears every prayer. its been hard and i am at a point now where i dont know anymore…..   71. A year and a half ago my husband went into cardiac arrest on the basketball court. The Lord was sure to be there in the form of a friend who saved his life. He is currently traveling in Qatar for work and has run out of his medicine that helps keep his stint open. He was due to come home tomorrow but that has extended 2 days. Please pray that our Great God continues to protect his sweet heart and brings him home. Thank you Jesus girls, you are such a blessing.

Dear Heavenly Father, I don’t want to presume upon You how You will meet this need, but Lord I know You can meet this need, whether by miraculously providing the medication that’s needed, or by keeping Michelle’s husband’s heart strong and safe until he is able to get the medicine he needs. Thank You for the way You provided and preserved his life over a year ago. You are the same yesterday, today and forever. You never change. We know You are able to provide again now, and we are trusting You. Thank You for Michelle and her love for her husband.         1. First post for me too – but today the “Encouragement” post for praying girls made me check the comment section. This is my 3rd time for cancer. 2002 mastectomy followed by 5 yrs meds.. then in 2007 opened rib cage to remove cancerous Thymus gland (never knew we had one) that was followed by 28 radiation treatments direct down front of chest. I was still working when I had those 2 cancers. But retired in 2010 and last April 2013 after testing (no symptoms) and bone marrow biopsy discovered breast to bone cancer. Since “no cure” I opted to skip the infusion chemo for quality of life. I am on two meds a day and a shot a month. Have lasted all this time, but the quality not quite what I had envisioned and yet I am still independent and can do for myself. God still has a purpose for us or we wouldn’t still be here — I email daily devotionals every morning to former coworkers and friends/relatives. I am divorced since 2008 and all my relatives live in Midwest while I live in So Flo. The email devotionals start the others day out on the right note PLUS gets me up in the morning to keep ME focused on Jesus and not issues. Can’t change situation, but can change attitude. Still can be help to others until He calls us home. Cancer messes with our bodies AND our brains, but can’t touch our souls … that Spirit that lives in us — and will live on… A blessing to have those around you who care about you .. the journey for them IS difficult too. Your testimony will be your legacy to them… keep in prayer and although I get lonely, I am NEVER alone .. nor are you! Peace, comfort and praying for miracles…. they DO happen.

          1. Oh my dear Jo Ann, our stories are so similar. I was first diagnosed in ’04 at the age of 38, had gobs of chemo and mastectomies, was all clear until 2012, when due to pain in my sternum, it was discovered to have returned there as well as my lung and all over the left chest. I had to go on disability and quit working, which was such a huge life shift, but have also lasted this long on oral med and the shot in the kiester once a month. I also will not be doing chemo since it really offers nothing except more misery. Been having issues with my kidneys being involved and lots of nausea. But every morning I get out of bed, have my time with the Lord, and I am happy to still be here. I am thankful for the love and support of my husband and daughter and my church family and friends, as the rest of my family is in the Midwest. I can’t stand that you are alone through this. I want to leave you my e-mail address so maybe we can encourage one another through this. I know I probably shouldn’t on a public forum, but I feel such a connection with you. How awesome is our God that He should nudge us both to post on here. And yes, you are so right. Even if it’s a phone call, a text, and e-mail, there are so many ways you touch people during the day even if we can’t get off the couch, ways for our Father to still use us. My negativity and selfishness gets the best of me, and I want others to see Christ in me, not my poor attitude. I want to love my friends, be there for them and set an example without getting caught up in what they’re doing, how they’re living, etc. The easiest thing to do is separate myself completely, because then I don’t have to deal with it. But, I also want to set an example and them see the change in my heart- but again, it’s hard to spend time with these people and not fall into what they’re doing. Satan reminds me often of how I’ve failed in the past, but I know in my heart that does not define me.   335. Filled with anxiety. I know that it is not right to worry but that I should pray. My head knows it but my body is in a state of panic. I need prayer for my adult children and my grandchildren and for the court proceedings that will take place in the near future concerning my precious granddaughter.

  336. I am an assistant principal at a middle school. I deal with discipline on a daily basis. So much of the discipline is mundane, childish things but every once in a while I get something that reveals a hurting child who is dealing with the consequences of parents who are unable to make good decisions and are in jail or addicted to drugs or alcohol, have relationships that are unhealthy and the child is following in their footsteps. Please pray for middle school students to learn how to make right decisions and for the consequences of the sins of the parents to be minimal. They need someone to stand in the gap for them.

He also has issues with abandonment from his childhood and his first marriage where his wife left him while he was out of town for another man. I also left him while he was at work without even letting him know. My daughter consequently wants nothing to do with him and he has been portrayed by myself as a monster. I over-exaggerated things that he did to get sympathy and it has cost him his freedom until February 2015. I don’t know how to make her believe we want to get back together with God’s help. Please pray for me and anyone that can guide me please help.

  585. Where do I begin in naming my prayer requests? So many of you have much bigger issues to deal with, I know. My heart breaks for each of you who have recently joined me in the ranks of “widow”. My current needs are small by comparison yet more than I can carry alone to our Heavenly Father. I was fired on September 22 from my job. Now I must decide, with God’s help, whether to find employment where I currently live or follow my heart and move to be nearer my children and grandchildren. In order to move, I must first sell my condominium for a decent price. In the midst of making these life changing decisions, I got called back to the GYN for additional tests due to the results of a recent PAP smear. He has only had two jobs in his whole life. 10 years in the Air Force and 20 years as a Key Account Manager for Pepsi. Why can’t he find a job? I have a great job and make a good amount of money, just not enough to cover ALL of our expenses. We have ZERO credit card debt, both of our cars are paid for and we do not live an extravagant lifestyle. We don’t take vacations, we don’t own boats or seadoos or golf carts like everyone else in our neighborhood. We are not members of a country club. We just work, attend our son’s ballgames and go to church. Why is this happening to us? God knows our needs. God knows he needs a job. God knows we are faithful. We need prayer….thank you.

WE both had a lot of baggage coming into the marriage and i struggling with alcoholism. I have been sober for over a year but the wreckage i caused has been horrible. My lying and selfishness has resulted in the loss of my marriage and my husband in jail to which he doesn’t deserve. the relationship turned very hostile and ugly with horrible fighting. We didn’t know how to handle our problems. As a result of my lying my husband became very controlling. He also has issues with abandonment from his childhood and his first marriage where his wife left him while he was out of town for another man. I also left him while he was at work without even letting him know. My daughter consequently wants nothing to do with him and he has been portrayed by myself as a monster. I over-exaggerated things that he did to get sympathy and it has cost him his freedom until February 2015. I don’t know how to make her believe we want to get back together with God’s help. Please pray for me and anyone that can guide me please help. I am a christian and have re-dedicated my life to Christ and have been witnessing to Matt through books i send him and letters. I pray for the Lord’s direction but I know if we both love the Lord and put him at the head of our relationship everything else will fall into place. i am just afraid of my daughters and family’s reaction.

Losing him I had no idea how hard it would be financially, because I’m not 60 yet (2 yrs to go) I cannot collect any widow benefits from his social security. I’m surviving on just my income, I’ve cut corners, stay on budget and still cannot meet my bills..and now SS has garnished my wages to the tune of $300 per month (for the next 5 months) due to an over payment of social security to him while he was barely still here on this earth. I take medication throughout the day and night and because of the requirement to not wear a watch or use a phone, I could not keep up with the medication schedule, especially at night. I also have dietary restrictions so there was concern regarding this limitation, as well. The offer was made ahead of the walk that someone would get me food from town, but I didn’t want to bother these fine team members getting takeout for me.   872. Wendy, I just now read your devotion from yesterday. I believe in praying in the moment for the moment and always interceding for others. I used to have people ask me for prayer and then I would say I will pray. There is no better time than at that moment to pray. When we put off pray we forget, a person might be in a situation that needs prayer now. We must also listen to the Lord when he calls out someones name for prayer. Pray without ceasing.
    I am asking for prayer for myself for my physical body, and my marriage as well as our financial situation. I know prayer works, believing in faith that GOD answers, too.

    I’m asking for prayers for my marriage as well. I’m also asking prayers for help in navigating it all, in raising my boys to realize that the way a very prominant figure in their life acts is not right without defaming that person. I’m feeling very lost with it all.

  874. Please pray for a good friend’s young son, Cole Browning. They have found a tumor on his brain, and he will have to have a very risky surgery to remove it and then other treatments. Prayers especially for the mom and dad to have strength and peace. Thank you.

  876. I would like to ask prayer for my marriage. This past Summer it was about over, but God intervened and is starting to restore. It isn’t an easy process, but I know it is worth it. Our marriage needs healing, forgiveness,strength…and anything else it can get. I also need prayer to really understand and know how to forgive myself for bad decisions I have made in the past. They seem to loom over me and tell me I am not worthy of anything, especially God’s love and forgiveness. Thank you!

  878. Please pray as I continue to plan my wedding; sometimes the stress is overwhelming. Please continue to pray for my relationship with my family, friends, fiance, and GOD. I seek prayers for my financial situation; please pray that I find financial security, stability, and make the proper financial choices as I enter into the union of marriage.

    Please pray for my mother and my grandfather, as they are not in the best of health in their later years. I pray for all those who are saved, those who are unsaved, and those who do not yet understand.

Both husband and Mom are disabled, I have no siblings and I have no children and work a job tat requires OT. so, it’s the 3 of us + the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that the Lord presents us with someone to fill a vacant position we have that we desperately need. Also asking prayers of protection for my son, who is in the last year of his prison term.   889. I am asking for prayers to move on pass the betrayal of my husband leaving me 3 months after my daughter passed away in August of 2013. He does not have any children and could not relate to my grief. He immediately began living with another woman and rubbing it in my face and slandering me on Facebook telling people I was not a Christian. I have no communication with him at all, he continues to leave voicemails on my cellphone even though he is blocked. I am tired of thinking about him everyday and the pain he has caused in my family. I just want to move on and help others through the loss of a loved one or divorce. I pray constantly for God to remove these thoughts from my head, but I feel the devil attacking me over and over. Please pray for peace and comfort for me and my grandson who I raise. We have been through a lot in the last year. God Bless

  903. Cody, a young man that lost his hand in an automobile accident. He’s in his early twenties and no one will give him a chance. He has a criminal record, but he has served his time, and is an overall good kid. He needs a job but is considered to much of a liability for anyone to hire him. He tried getting disability and they think he is being lazy. He just needs a break.

  907. OK – I must need prayer. Sometimes I think we think of God as our errand boy that we just send up requests, constantly asking for something. Do we ever just pray a prayer of PRAISE? Thanking HIM? Or do we do that part and want to hurry up and get to the part that is “about us?” Is it all about me and what I want for myself and other people too? OK – sorry – hormones must be racing today or maybe Satan is trying to play with my mind………. Thanking God today for HIS sacrifice.

    1. Lynn, you are so right, that some people do unconsciously think of God as an errand boy. We should spend time in just praise… I know that when I’m physically exhausted for caring for my daughter, I can have a pity party for myself. It is only when I begin to focus solely on God and praising HIM, that my thoughts are captured and made obedient to Christ. My joy is then restored, even if my situation does not immediately change. Also, there are times of exhaustion and being overwhelmed, that a prayer of “help me, Lord” is all I can manage. I don’t think of God as an errand boy, but rather my life preserver. We must be diligent in our hearts to not make God anything but Holy, our Creator and Redeemer. Obviously, He looks at each of our hearts and knows our attitude toward Him, and answers prayers accordingly. Your comment is filled with much wisdom!

  914. Please keep my family and I in prayer. My uncle has been in and out of the hospital this past year, and now the tumors have grown back in his brain. My grandma had a stroke a year ago, and she is still in bad shape. My father has been in the hospital twice in the past two months for surgery, because of kidney stones. Also pray for the salvation of my boyfriend. He has had a troubled life, and has become bitter and angry. Everyone else sees him as a lost cause, but I know God can save him, and heal all that hurt and pain from his past.

    Thank you for this post, it has really encouraged me. Please pray for me, I am going through challenges in every area of my life. There are bills on every side and need increase in my finances, I am e months behind in my rent! I need a job and have been searching for almost 3 months now. I also need a miracle in my immigration status, as I require right to work and this is yet to be granted. I am 36 yrs and have been alone. For almost 4 yrs and it is the desire of my heart to get married and have a family. I am trying to stand in faith as I wait on the Lord for answers to my prayers, sometimes it makes me feel bitter and resentful towards others, as it seems everyone’s life is going well except mine. Sometimes I find it difficult to pray as I feel very discouraged. Please pray for the salvation of my entire family as just me and my brother are saved! Thank you, God bless you!

Our children miss him and now my daughter is suffering from suicidal thoughts and possible eating disorder.
