Feelings, Nothing More than Feelings

“Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and He knows everything.”
1 John 3:20 (NLT))

God is greater than our feelings. God is greater than my feelings.

I love  being a woman. I love the fun girlfriends have shopping and sharing lunch. We laugh loud and love deep. Women care with great compassion. We are emotional beings, sometimes too emotional. We have a tendency to wear our feelings on our shoulders or plastered over our face for the entire world to see. We live our feelings. We wear our feelings

Being emotional is the way God created us. Women are purposed in this way so we can handle crises, share pain with someone who is hurting, defend those who are wronged, and love those who need it.  But God did not create us to be emotional creatures so we would define who we are by how we feel. It must sadden God when we place our worth, define our future, and make decisions based upon how we feel. He created us for so much more than that!

The enemy sets feelings traps. He uses our emotional state to render us powerless to carry out our day to day responsibilities. He plays with our mind and in turn we  make our feelings bigger than our God. We can be set free from the power of our negative feelings and misplaced emotions because GOD IS GREATER THAN OUR FEELINGS.

I don’t know about you but I need this power statement etched in my brain.
