To Be or Not to Be

“To learn, you must love disciple; it is stupid to hate correction”
Proverbs 12:1

To be or not to be, stupid that is…this is the statement I am challenging myself with today.

The word stupid shocked me. I couldn’t believe such a word was in the Bible. Stupid was and is the “s” word in home. I have never liked it so to see in the Holy pages of God’s ancient words was a bit overwhelming.

I have not ever a big fan of discipline either but upon further reflection of the word stupid I have decided I’d rather learn to love discipline than to be known the “s” word.

The Hebrew meaning of stupid is foolish. Dictionary.com defines it as lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind. Neither of these meanings appealing to me.

Discipline and correction aren’t necessarily appealing to me either; however accepting them will be make me more like Jesus which is my highest goal.

So in conclusion I say I would rather “not be.”

How about you?
