Giving Well
“It is more blessed to give than to receive… “ Acts 20:25 (NIV)
I must confess when He calls me to give; I don’t always feel blessed. Perhaps you have had similar experiences.
After a long day at work the Lord prompts you to prepare a meal for a family when you are barely have the energy to prepare a meal for your own family. Or maybe you on a day you are physically exhausted and put out with your children, He nudges you to invite your friend’s children over because she needs a break. No matter what the situation, when God calls us to give our only response has to be yes. Our obedience matters.
When He interrupts our plans, nudging us to take the co-worker who has shown us anything but kindness to lunch, teach our child’s Sunday School class so that the regular teacher can have a break, or send a money order to a family in need we need to remember our obedience matters. On the other side is blessing for the giver and receiver.
OUCH, thanks Wendy, I get a little (alot) selfish with my time, I think I have been single too long 🙂 Blessings!! Always ♥ your posts!!
Thank you also Wendy for this post. I am single also and I just realized that I am “set in my ways.” I have my own agenda. But I pray to be more available for God to use me. Actually while I am single I have more time for HIM. Blessings
