Twisted with the Spirit

Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.
Psalm 27:14 (NLT)

I have never liked waiting and I have never made that a secret.

Today is another Monday I wake up waiting.  Waiting for change. Waiting for different. Waiting for an answer to a prayer I have prayed for many many years.

As I refreshed my mind and heart with today’s key verse my faith was renewed. I was reminded that I am not in the wait alone. The Hebrew transliteration for the word wait is qavah (kaw-vaw’). A primitive root; to bind together (perhaps by twisting), i.e. Collect; (figuratively) to expect — gather (together), look, patiently, tarry, wait (for, on, upon). (Source)

Often when we wait we become weary. The longer the wait the lonelier we become. Knowing the meaning of the word should strengthen us.  As we wait, we are bound with the Holy Spirit. He is our Helper and Counselor. A twisted strand is stronger than a single strand.

Together, twisted with the Spirit, you can wait. I can wait. In the meantime, let’s praise Him.
