Hope for Today
I have made no secret of my time in the wilderness. The feeling isn’t there like it once one.
Feelings lie.
Feelings tell us God doesn’t really care. Feelings tell us He is far away. Feelings tell us He will not and can not provide for our needs. Feelings tell us to seek other places for our destiny. Feelings tell us He has abandoned us.
Feelings lie.
But scripture does not lie.
“Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days.” Isaiah 35:1 Isaiah is prophesying the impending captivity of the Israelites. He assures them that in times of discipline and punishment God will take care of them, “even the wilderness will be glad.” He says there will be growth and singing while the dry dusty desert turns green. (V1)
The message for those of in the wilderness can clearly be seen in this truth. God can and will produce life in the wilderness. God will make the wilderness glad. We don’t have to wonder if He is with us in the wilderness, we need to strive with all our might to see Him there.
If you are in the wilderness let this truth be your hope today. If you are not in a wilderness, tuck this truth in your memory bank for another day.
I feel better, do you?
Wendy,
Loved your last two sentences – it lifts me up.
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your journey in the wilderness. I have thought so much about your prayer “create in me a clean heart o God” and with much trepidation have prayed that prayer, though fearful I am thankful that The Lord is showing me my “un-meekness” that needs the cleansing of God’s grace.
Thanks so much for this post Wendy, I needed to read those words today. I need to remember that scripture does not lie and focus on that and not my feelings!! Bless you sweet sister for posting this today!! Love you Wendy ♥
Wendy, thank you for this post! I’ve been down and having those feelings today. Thank you for providing scripture that reassures me that God is there, even in the wilderness. God bless you! Hugs!
Wendy, thank you for today’s encouragement and the reminder that we do have to live by our feelings.
Oh wow! My feelings get me in trouble as well as my emotions! Thank you for this encouragement! I am for the first time at 28 learning who I am in Christ
