A Few Letters

Day 52

This past weekend I was invited to speak in Cape May NJ to the amazing women of Fellowship Christian Alliance. My assistant and I ran in several obstacles before leaving Charlotte Douglas International only face other obstacles upon arriving in Philadelphia.

We thought all was well when we finally arrived in Cape May until I opened my bag to discover I had accidently left my ipad in the magazine pocket of the plane. Panic struck and we immediately went into reaction and recovery mode. In the midst of my anxiety my phone chimed indicating I had received a new text message. The message said, “Hi Wendy, I’m praying for you today and your speaking event. I’m praying for God to show up in a big way.” The sweet words were from my sweet friend Glynnis.

Like Lysa’s note from her Bible Friend changed the direction of her life, Glynnis’ text changed the direction of my moment. They made me pause and think about why I was Cape May.

When God places someone on your heart, commit to send encouragement to the person whether through z-mail, e-mail, instant message, text, or any other from of communcation. Your words can make the difference between panic and peace, acceptance and rejection, victory and defeat, love and hate.

Yes, a few words can redirect the course of a life, a day, or even a moment.

P.S. My ipad? Well, it went onto Chicago then Pittsburgh. Where it is now, only God knows. Does it matter, in the picture not really.

P.S.S. The answer to Glynnis’ prayer? God did show up in a HUGE way!!!!!
