A Little Bit Of Heaven on Earth

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4

“Oh, what a day of rejoicing that will be”, if I may borrow the words from the great old hymn by Eliza Hewitt.

Yesterday at the Proverbs 31 office I had the incredible privilege of taking a peek at what I believe heaven will be like . We were able to share tea, life, dancing, worship, and Jesus with some amazing women from Africa. This women are part of an organization called Amani that rescues women in the worn-torn areas of Africa. Through Amani, the women are offered hope and love through Jesus. These 12 women are on an inaugural visit to the United States performing a Narrative Fashion Show that depicts life from their war-torn homes.

As I watched the beautiful women share their lives with us while sipping tea, it occurred to me, “This must be what heaven will be like.” For a moment in time, the God of Universe pushed pause and we were able to be united. As we danced, sang, and prayed, there was not divison or discrimination, opposition or oppression, there was just a room full of women who loved Jesus and celebrated His greatness.

According to scripture, our New Jerusalem will be this way. The old order of things will pass away. Things will not be done the same old way, with selfish gain, pride, prejudice, and political correctness. At last every nation, tribe, and tongue will be united under our Lord in complete and perfect harmony. Truly, what a day of rejoicing that will be! Can you hardly wait? Me neither!
