Manna tastes a lot like pizza

When the Israelites awoke each morning in the dessert God had proven His provision for them by giving them a daily supply of manna. They woke up each morning expecting to see the glory of the Lord and trusting that He would supply what they needed.

Today, I woke up and found 8 slices of manna in my refrigerator. Let me explain.

My husband went on a day fishing trip with a friend. He left very early Monday morning and was to return very late Monday night. His trip took him through a small town that is the home of my favorite pizza place. On the trip back, my sweet man, called ahead and ordered my favorite pizza. Are ya’ll saying, Awwwwww yet? You should be.

When I woke up this morning, I found him on the couch because he had gotten late and did not want to disturb my sleep. (You can say awwwww, again.) I walked by the couch as I went to wake the children and he whispered, “I brought you a surprise. It is in the refrigerator.” Honestly, I thought to myself, “Oh boy, a mess of trout.” I did not run to see the surprise. I went on my way to wake the kids up for school. I came to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, opened the refrigerator and there it was: my manna.

Now, some may say that I may be reading too much into this act of kindness but I know how the my Lord speaks to me. He was saying this man loves you and so do I. It was a great way to start the day: expecting manna and receiving it.

I went to bed expecting something great for the day and I wasn’t disappointed. Makes me wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Do you wake up expecting something great?
