A Wow Psalm
God is doing wonders among me. I can’t keep up! Do you have days or weeks like that? Days or weeks where you can hardly catch your breath before He does something else amazing
The other morning, I can’t remember what day, (Why do women always have to be so precise?) I was up having me quiet with Lord. I was flipping through the Psalms and landed on Psalm 16. I have my personal quiet time with the Lord from my old green Living Bible, perhaps you have one of those. It is green with gold lettering.
Anyway, I begin reading the ancient words and was totally wowed! Don’t you love how you can read the ancient words over and over again and they fall on you as fresh as the morning dew. (Did I just write “fresh as the morning dew”?) I guess that is why His Word is called the Living Word. I love Hebrews 4:12,
“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it
penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the
thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Oh, how I want my thoughts and attitudes to be aligned with His, don’t you. I am posting the part of the Psalm that penetrated to my soul. It became living and active in me that day, so much so that I had to share with some special people in my life, Kristi and Melissa. Little did I know that God blessed me so that could be a blessing to them. For Kristi, the Word was refreshment to her soul and for Melissa, she received a peace about something she had been praying about. Isn’t God so great to bless us then allow us to be part of His story to bless someone else? I love Him so!!
Psalm 16:5:11(LB)
“The Lord himself is my inheritance, my prize. He is my food and drink, my highest joy! He guards all that is mine. He sees that I am given pleasant brooks and meadows as my share! What a wonderful in heritance! I will bless the Lord who counsels me; he gives me wisdom in the night. He tells me what to do. I am, always thinking of the Lord; and because he is so near, I never need to stumble or to fall. Heart, body, and soul are filled with joy. For you will not leave me among the dead; you will not allow your beloved one to rot in the grave. You have let me experience the joys of life and the exquisite pleasure of your own eternal presence.”
Ask God to wow you today, then expect Him to do it.
