When The Weather Changes

But the weather changed abruptly, and a wind of typhoon strength (called a northeaster) burst across the island and blew us out to sea.
Acts 27:14

My Takeaways

Something Old

When the weather changes

  • Take courage in God’s plan.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.  Philippians 1:6
  • Believe God.
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.  Hebrews 11:6

Something New

Sometimes others around us receive the overflow of God’s favor on us. God was saving Paul, and many others were saved and eventually believed.

Something to Do

Hang onto Jesus always, so when the weather changes abruptly I can weather the storm.

  1. I found this lesson hilarious because during a sound sleep at 1 am last night we were awakened by a(another) hard shaking, rattling earthquake here in the Mojave Desert. With my husband away on business and just the dogs and me at home, what do you think I reminded myself? God is in control. He is still taking care of us. Take courage. If another hits, I’m still not alone…(and repeat)…and try to sleep…

  2. Thank you Wendy! What a powerful lesson today! I could see the passion in your eyes and hear it in your voice! “Take Courage”, “Do Not Be Afraid”. This is one of those lessons to listen to over and over…especially in the middle of a storm.
Also…had to write this sentence in my Bible…….
“You cannot weather a storm that you cannot predict. Believe God. Take courage in Go’s plan.” Amen and amen.

  3. My younger son is an ocean rescue lifeguard in Corolla, NC, and they see those nor’easters frequently. Storm preparedness is just a way of life there . It just makes sense, and it’s really the only way to go..
