Wisdom For The Asking

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
James 1:5

My Takeaways

Something Old

Sometimes I get tired of growing my endurance.  (James 1:4)

Something New

A few things about wisdom:

  • The wisdom we want comes with an eternal and godly perspective. Wisdom and knowledge are different.
  • This wisdom will not contradict God’s Word.
  • Knowledge is merely information, facts, and figures. Wisdom is discernment in what to do with all the information, facts, and figures.

About God and wisdom:

  • He doesn’t get upset when we ask Him for wisdom.
  • He doesn’t withhold when we ask with our faith in Him alone.
  • He doesn’t respond when there is doubt or division in our request.

Something to Do

Ask then be patient for, respect, and accept the outcome.

  1. Wendy, oh how easy it is to go to the Google search and think it is the gospel! If it’s on the internet, it must be true, right? WRONG! I am guilty of relying on my skill sets and internet searches to act on situations. I want a quick fix and your words reminded me to, ‘pause, pray and seek wisdom through His Word and guidance through the Holy Spirit.’ I can tell you that when I have ‘paused, prayed, sought guidance through His Word, the peace I have felt in letting the Holy Spirt lead me, is out of this world! I want that more and more in my life. Thank you for letting the Spirit and the Word of God guide you as you lead us through the Word of God. Your actions are having an ‘eternal impact’. May God continue to bless you, your family and your ministry.
