Even If I Fear
Even though the people were afraid of the local residents, they rebuilt the altar at its old site. Then they began to sacrifice burnt offerings on the altar to the LORD each morning and evening.
Ezra 3:3
My Takeaways
Something Old
I love the return… and these verses!
But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple’s foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy. The joyful shouting and weeping mingled together in a loud noise that could be heard far in the distance. Ezra 3:12-13
Something New
Even if I fear…
- Fear is normal.
- God knows we are afraid.
- Fear shouldn’t keep us from our goal.
Fear should not be a factor for us because we the have perfect love from a perfect Savior.
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 1 John 4:18
Live fearless so our enemy will say… obviously fear is not a factor for her.
Something to Do
Trust in the perfectly perfected completely completed love that expels all my fear.
Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed that I fear.
